Just returned from my first trip to Disneyland since 1957 and got the impression that, size wise, it's not too different than the Magic Kingdom at Disneyworld. Was I fooled by the layout, or are they fairly comparable?? Thanks:smooth:

If you're talking about just the DIsneyland park and not the entire resort, I think you were fooled by layout. :) I can walk from near Small World to the lockers on Main Street and back in less than 10 minutes. Takes longer to do the equiv at Disneyworld.

Anyone know the actual sizes? I just know I've always considered Disneyland smaller than the Magic Kingdom (and more charming IMHO)

I'd always heard that Magic Kingdom was much larger than DL. It certainly feels larger to me, more spread out.

WDW Magic Kingdom: 107 acres
(per Fodors)

Disneyland Magic Kingdom: 80 acres
(per themeparks.com)

The Disneyland acreage above is claimed to be public areas. Not exactly sure about WDW.

Disneyland's traffic patterns make it seem a lot larger than it really is. It is very difficult to walk a straight line for long. Rides at DL can be walk-ons and the midways are still packed. The downsizing of POC and iasw at WDW give you the feeling that things are smaller.
