Size difference between CSR and POFQ

I have been reading several threads on here. Currently, I have our reservations set up for CSR with a request for Cabanas 9B. I have read that POFQ is much more compact. Honestly, what is the size difference between the two? When looking at the maps it appears as though they are both large and spread out in their own way. Additionally, how many bus stops are at POFQ? Lastly, if I were to stay in building #4, approximately how far of a walk is it to the boat dock to go to DTD? Thanks in advance!

We've never stayed at CSR. but are considering it for our next trip. I just keep thinking of how much more convenient POFQ was than our trips to Allstars(which are also large like CSR). There is only one bus stop at POFQ(it's really not large enough for more). It was a short walk to the pool and boat dock from building 4 (maybe 4-5 minutes at most).

POFQ is under 1/2 the size of CSR. Are you looking at a map of POR? That is closer to size of CSR but still not as large. When a resort has an internal bus to get around you know its large. POR or POFQ doesn't have an internal bus CSR and CBR do. I personally don't mind walking but lots of people complain about walking so it depends on you.

We have also stayed at POFQ and really enjoyed it (2003). CSR is huge compared to POFQ; it is even larger than POR. POFQ has only one bus stop while POR has 4 and I believe CSR had 4 or 5 when we were there. At CSR, we stayed in the Ranchos section, which had just opened. Unfortunately, the bus stop at the Ranchos wasn't ready! Fortunately, we had rented a car for that trip so we drove to the main building when we needed to get there, left the car and hopped a bus. At POFQ, you wouldn't have more than a 5 minute walk to the main building from anyone on site. Unfortunately, POFQ does not have a full service restaurant so you need to walk (about 10 minutes) or take the boat up to POR and Boatwright's for that type of meal.
Keep in mine that requesting a Cabanas building does not mean you will get it! You may not even get the Cabanas. Room and building requests are not guaranteed so be prepared to get something other than what you have requested, especially during a busy season.
Have fun deciding!

We've stayed at POR 4x, CSR 2x, & POFQ once. There is only one bus stop at POFQ, but I believe the bus makes 4 stops at POR on your way to the parks. We like to walk & really liked POR & CSR better than POFQ because we enjoy how spread out the resorts are. The one time we stayed at POFQ we spent a lot of our time walking over to POR to use the restaurant, a quiet pool & their food court. Our favorite mod is CSR because of the great pool & nice quiet pools, & because we've experienced better bus service there. Cabana 8b & Rancho 6b were both very quiet during our stays.

We enjoyed CSR a lot more then our stay last July at POFQ. Even though CSR is larger (which is the only downside) it beautiful to walk around, especially at night, we felt the dining choices and service was better, the pool was nicer (snack bar at pool), pool slide longer (which is good if kids are older) hot tub was great (POFQ was broke while we were there). Even though there are four bus stops, the buses seemed to be more efficient. POFQ is the first pick up but then goes to POR and picks up there, which seemed to take longer.

We also spend a lot of time at BB which is right across the street from CSR, MGM and Epcot, also seemed a litter closer.

We stayed at CSR in 2001, and POFQ in 2004. POFQ is MUCH smaller than CSR!!! If you don't mind a looong walk to get to the food court, pool, and bus stops, then CSR is a great place to stay. The landscaping is just beautiful, and the lake is so pretty, esp. at night. The main pool is really huge. Really cool theme. Overall, a great resort.

However, POFQ is beautiful, too. It is quiet and peaceful- very romantic with the gaslights, little courtyards, and the magnolias. The boat ride to DTD is great! The pool is terrific, too. No "quiet" pools like at CSR, but you can walk over to POR to use theirs. Extremely short walks to get anywhere- food court, bus stop, pool, and boat dock were all within about 2 minutes of our front door. Overall, a great resort.

You really can't go wrong with these two resorts- the ONLY question is, "Do I want everything super close or do I like a spread out resort?" We prefer POFQ, but only because I hate walking a long way to the room after walking all day at the parks!

We LOVE PO-FQ... so much more compact, the food court is great, and they don't add on gratuity, and we just like the atmosphere better. CSR is the only moderate we haven't stayed at, because DH didn't like the atmosphere. I did have him talked into it once, because of the pool, but we couldn't get the discount for the entire time and didn't want to switch resorts. That is how we came to stay at PO-FQ... so glad that discount didn't happen!
