As of today, I am now a member of the DVC with 200 points at the GFV. I cannot begin to tell you how much I'm looking forward to many years of fun at WDW. :cool1:

Back in 2008 when we visited WDW for the first time we did a DVC tour of AKL and purchased 200 points. But after a day or so thinking what we just did I cancelled the contract. Yes we loved Disney but at that time we didn't know if it would be a one time thing or what... Well that turned out not to be the case. :goodvibes Long story short, the timing was not right, but I never stopped thinking about it nor stopped crunching the numbers.

Which leads me to now. I attempted to purchase 199 GFV points from a seller on the resale market, gave an offer, and was rejected without a counter offer. I was tempted to just go ahead and purchase but decided to think it through and look at other listings; that and their price along with closing costs and dues was only about 4k less than Disney direct and just not worth the hassle for me. I gave the AKV's much thought, but as much as I like the resort, I just really don't care for the location and know that I would not be happy if stuck there because of availability elsewhere. :(

I had been tossing around going with Disney directly and that is what I ended up doing. Done deal... With that I am now also booked for next June at the GFV, deluxe studio with lake view. :thumbsup2

Congrats! And welcome home! We have been DVC members since 2006 and have loved every minute of it. I hope it brings you and your family as many happy memories as it has brought ours!

Congrats again! You weren't kidding! It really is pretty much our same story, although we started at 200 points, and chose 120 since we want to get more at the Poly when that becomes available.

I was surprised by how fast and easy it was, with no waiting. Now, as long as the check clears, we're golden! :rotfl: pixiedust:

Congrats! We have been members for 11 years, and not a single regret about purchasing DVC. We have had many great vacations, and always look forward to the next trip. Enjoy - GFV are beautiful!

Welcome home and congrats! We also thought about buying for 6 years before taking the plunge in 2012 when we purchased at BCV via resale. Three trips in and one in the making and I often wish we had done it sooner. Now I have addonitis!!! I am hoping to double my points soon...once I have the cash available. Hope you enjoy DVC as much as we have!

Congratulations, Welcome Home!:goodvibes

We love VGF...we own a few points there. Enough to stay a night or two in December.:santa:
