My mum is coming to DLRP with us soon. She is ultra-fussy about food and basically only eats chicken or well-done steak. My 1-year old eats more than she does, LOL :) ANyway, she thinks she will sit at the tables with us but not eat and then just grab a brownie or something later (I know, I know <rolls eyes>!) But I'm not sure that she'd be allowed to take up a place yet not eat. Anybody got any ideas on this?

Where are you planning on eating?

If it's counter service then there definitely won't be a problem as they're all self-service.

If you're thinking of table service then I don't know. I don't think there would be a problem at the restaurants where you choose from the menu ~ I assume your mum would be ordering a drink? However, I'm not sure how you'd get on at the buffet restaurants.

It might depend on how busy it is and how many others there are in your group.

If there are 4 then a table for 4 is really no different than a table for 3 so shes not really taking a place

She might be Ok especially if she ordered a drink

It would be more difficult in buffet places as she probably couldnt prove she was eating any of the food

the buffets you will have to pay if you take up a seat. Rainforest cafe do chicken and if you order a steak from anywhere just ask for it well done.
Its not really very good just to eat a brownie(im not having a go but there are plenty of options to eat other than just a brownie) just ask and the staff will cook the food to her needs.

I agree that buffet restaurants is where you'll have to pay for having as seat :)

Thanks everyone. The buffets should be ok as surely she can find something she likes there (plain pasta is do-able) - it's the table service ones I'm worried about. She won't have *anything* fancy on food, so eg. chicken with particular herbs or a sauce is out! We've booked for the Blue Lagoon and there is absolutely nothing on the menu that she would eat. Good idea about ordering it plain though. She would eat the kids menu (!) so I may just order a kids menu for her on the premise that it's for our baby and then the baby can just share my and DH's food. Honestly, who'd imagine an adult that's fussier than a baby... :)
