wondering what kind of clothes to pack and we leave in less than 24 hours!! Will I be too hot in long sleeves? Will I be too cold in short sleeves? I don't really want to take short sleeves because I don't have any that look cute with jeans. Will a jacket be enough in the evening? Do I need to take DS's winter coats for the evening? These things keep going through my head and I can't decide what to pack! :confused3

The countdown has begun and I don't have one single stitch of clothing packed. Thought maybe if I got on the Dis for a few minutes it would all come to me. Here's hoping...

We leave tomorrow and I have had the same issues. I finally packed a lot last night, here is my game plan, jeans for the whole trip, short sleeved shirts (a couple long sleeve ones also) a sweatshirt and a mid. coat. My dd has decided she needs to take her heavy coat for the evenings. My plan is to dress in short sleeves with a sweatshirt in the am, we usually go back to the room late afternoon, so we will grab our jackets then for the evenings.......Oh well, if I am wrong, then I quess I just have to shop....

Thanks Abby's mom. I knew I could get some help here. When in doubt ask the Disers!

By the way, we're staying at PP. Are you also by chance? We'll be the ones with two boys and grandma and grandpa who looks like he just stepped off the ranch. Won't go anywhere without his cowboy boots. Should be interesting! Have fun!

We are also staying at PP, me a 40ish mom, dd who is 7 and 1/2 and her godmother a 50something with a great sense of humour. I can't wait, I should be working, but am checking the dis boards instead.....

Me too! This time of year is great for a trip to DLR but is horrible when it comes to what to pack! Plus, I'm pregnant and in that inbetween stage when your clothes don't fit but maternity clothes are too big. Ugh...what to take???

I am really torn between taking my DS's winter coat or not. It's so bulky and we're already traveling with SO much stuff... The last 24 hours are so stressful...

stressful...you got that right! This is our third holiday trip, I should know what to pack. Not. We leave in 36 hours and I'm still trying to finish up. I packed jeans, 1 pair of capris for each of us three girls(DH insisted on a pair of shorts), some short and some long sleeves, a sweatshirt for each of them (I am buying one), my polar fleece vest and the girls are bring their coats just in case. We have to drive over the mountains so I'd rather be prepared than not. I'm wishing for 70 and sunny.

I would like to offer my best "What should I take to Disneyland" advise:

Pack the bare minimum because then you have :

1) an excuse to shop
2) lots of room in the suitcase to put the items you shop for
3) great souveniers in those sweatshirts and jackets that you buy on cold nights at Disneyland

What can I say, I pack for my kids and my husband and I usually forget to pack enough stuff for me so I shop!

Here is a hint that I use. I use Best Limo and they let me know what the weather is and help me pack. So if any of you are using a Limo service call them they will help you out

Plan on layers they are the best way to go. It should be cool to cold in the evening/nighttime and depending on where you are from nice during the day.

I also agree forget almost everything so you simply HAVE to buy new stuff.

We leave in less than 48 hours and I started packing my stuff tonight. Looks like I'm taking just about everything even though the forecast is calling for 40's/60's and lots of sunshine at least through the end of the week. As for the kiddos, well, they still don't even know about any of this. We've decided to do a surprise Christmas time trip for them. The bad part is trying to pack their things without them knowing something's up. Of course, after they get out of school tomorrow and we load the luggage they'll be on to it. We're going to try to keep the destination from them until at least we get to the airport and they see Los Angeles plastered on everything.

But, I think if we have all the layers covered then we can rent a locker for flexibility.

We are leaving tomorrow morning and I packed mostly long sleeve t-shirt type shirts for myself and daughter that is 3.5. I have packed mid weight coats for the AM and PM times...

I've been packing too.. a lot of layers so like long sleeve shirts to wear under short sleeve shirts.. And jackets over it with a zipper so it's easy to take on and off.

I should be fine.. right?? :)

We are annual passholders and go quite a bit. We have gone this time of year several times and I usually pack long sleeve t-shirts and layers. Usually bring some sweatshirts and always a mid weight jacket.

This is how we dressed last week when we were there.

We were actually fairly chilly and I ended up buying a hevier weight jacket.

I would say definitely for the evenings you are going to want to bundle up in a sweat shirt and a jacket.

Lighter layers for the day time.

If the wind picks up it is pretty chilly.

Hope that helps and have a GREAT time! ;)

Short sleeves are fine. ( just came back I wore them) A sweatshirt is fine. I brought all sorts of hats and winter coats even with massive rain in the forcast I did not need them. I got HOT. I wore a Disney "hoodie" and it was fine.

I live about 80 miles north of DL and it's usually colder there than it is here, and it's been freezing here (well, freezing for SoCal).. So I'm packing for cold weather.. :santa:
