We will be heading to FW for the first time in December. We are really excited about our trip. It will be myself, DH and our 2 BF's. We are taking our travel trailer and they will be taking their pop-up. My question is, will it be possible for us to get sites next to one another? We have a preferred site, and they do not need sewer, but would like to be at a site next to us.

We just returned from FW. We went with DD, her DH and grandchild. We solved that problem by making one reservation for two side by side sites. The cast member that took the reservation split the deposit for us putting half on our charge card and half on theirs. When we arrived they split the remainder owed for us without any problems. As long as they don't mind paying for a preferred site I don't see a problem. There were pop ups and tents on full hook up sites when we were there last week. About 4 days before we left for FW I faxed a very polite request to them and our request was granted. FW is still excepting faxes. The cast member at check in said they did not have a problem with people faxing requests as long as they understood that it was just a request and could not be guaranteed. If you don't want to do the one reservation, maybe you could have it noted as a request. If you go ahead and call now they could attach the request to your reservation, but I would still follow it up with a fax about 4 days before leaving for FW. It can't hurt.

You can also just have them join your ressies. Give your friends your ressie number and have them give it when they make their ressie. We have done this numerous times and never had a problem even when we had 5 campsites.

This is the way to go. As long as you both have the same site type (preferred, preferred-pet, etc.) the FW site assigner will do their best to get you together.

As We4mickey said, just make sure your friend knows your reservation number when they call and have them "joined". There will still be two reservations paid separetly, they will just know the two of you are camping together.
