DBF and I are going to be in WDW the first week of March. We are not engaged yet but should be in the next couple of months. How soon do I need to call before scheduling a site visit? A week before? DBF has no idea that I want to do this while we are there so I don't want to freak him out any sooner then necessary. ;) Will Disney frown on us if we aren't actually engaged? I guess I don't really need to tell them that do I? Any insight would be greatly appreciated! :)

Oh, how many places can you see when you are there?

Thanks in advance!

ooh yes we are going there in the first week of March!! We are flying out on the 4th! and plan to go to Disney for a planning session on our first few days?

I'm actually hoping that the planning session includes going round places and having site visits with someone from Disney weddings and perhaps going for some tasters at possible reception locations and for the dessert party?

any info would help me too!!

Hi there as with my experience I would call as soon as possible. Usually when you call they take all your information and then a sales coordinator will call you back. It took about a week for mine to call back. Our site visit wa scheduled about 2 months in advance, we were able to see 5 different locations. I think they show you the ones you are considering for the wedding and any possible rain out locations. We were showed AAR and LSS eventhough we did not ask to see them. Planning Sessions are not done until you have signed a contract and even then it is usually between months 4 -6 because pricing can't be guaranteed until then. Your planner schedules these the sales coord. cannot.

Good luck. HTH

On our site visit I met with someone from DFTW (who is now my coordinator) and she took me around to all of the places I was interested in for the wedding. She also gave me all of the vital information I needed to get started. When I called to set up the site visit (I believe I called about a month before, but you could probably call like 1-2 weeks before; just remember the longer you wait the less chance you have of meeting with someone), the girl I talked to got all of the info about the wedding like how many guests, what month we were thinking of getting married, what sites we were interested in, etc.

Just in case you are not able to set up a visit with DFTW, you can always walk into Franck's (right next to the Wedding Pavilion) and they will give you info and as long as there are no weddings going on you can check out the WP or any of the other sites you are interested in. HTH!!:goodvibes

Stacey, you definitely wont be allowed any taster sessions or anything until about 6 months from the date, once you have a planner and contract. But you will be able to visit locations.

oh really?! eeek. the only reason why i thought we could have a taster session is because we will not be going out there again until the wedding. I suppose quite a few brides from the UK dont even go out there so i shouldn't be worried - im just fussy with my food and i'll just have to maybe have a customized menu if thats possible? heh!!

at least well be able to go and visit locations in March - will someone show us around SBP, California grill/ Living Seas and possible dessert party locations? and do we need to ring them up soon to book for the visit in March?

Soz to be difficult and soz if you think im asking silly questions i should already know the awnser to! :upsidedow

Thanks girls!

I will call soon. DBF will just have to get over any issues he might have! :lmao:

You can actually tour some of the places on your own. If no one is at the WP you can ask to see it. I don't know if you are considering an intimate or wishes wedding but the majority of the ceremony sites are within public view so you can check them out on your own. You can check out Sea Breeze Point at the BW, Yatch Club Gazebo at the YC, Sunrise Terrace at WL, Sunset Point at the Poly. For EPCOT location you can tour the countries and check out each location and how it compares to images that you have seen online.

As far as reception locations, you can sometimes sneak a peak at the convention center locations by walkinga round. However I do suggest that you make an appointment. Although others like Ariel's can be seen from the bar next door. You can dine at CG to get a feel for the resturnat and its food, same thing with Citricos or Nicroses if you are considering those.

You wont need someone to show you SBP or CG - you could jdut go to CG for dinner, then you can taste the food, and as long as SBP doesnt have a wedding on you can just walk up to it fine.

Also dessert party locations are just regular outside aresa of the GF or epcot.

If I wanted these locations I wouldn't bother trying to get a planner to help, then you'll limit yourself timewise etc.

As I want WP and Whitehall, I think I'll have to phone ahead, although I'm tempted to just walk into franks and ask to see WP and then I'm sure someone at the desk of GF would show me the Whitehall if it was empty.

Can all be done without bothering planners this far out I recon.

I am so far looking at the Attic and the LSS. I am assuming I am going to need someone with me for those???

I haven't figured out other locations yet....

Has anyone done there site visit before they signed their contract? Our wedding is going to be December 14, 2010 and we were planning our site visit for October 2009. Going in 2010 will be hard because of vacation time at our jobs. I thought I read somewhere that a site visit could be scheduled 18 months ahead of your wedding. Just wondering  I'll keep my fingers crossed!:)

We has our site visit in August and didn't sign the contract until September. Our sales coordinator told us we could book it for any time after april. usually the site visit is done before and the planning session is done after you sign the contract.
