Hi everyone. My wedding isn't until Sept. 2007, but I have read that a lot of you went for site visits and got someone to talk to you before the year. Well I just called and the girl that answered wouldn't even let me talk, I said I want to have my wedding in sept. 2007 and she said they won't talk to me until the year out. We have an idea where we want it, but aren't positive, except for the fact that we want it at Disney. Do I just need to call and ask to have a site visit or something?

Thanks,
Samantha

We went prior to a year out and we met with Joe Dematei and he showed us around and was very pleasant to work with. I'm not sure if we even had a date in mind, when we went but you could always just tell them that you are coming down there and do not have a particular date set, you are still working out the details, but you'd still like to look at the venues.

Our wedding is January 13th, 2007, and we were able to have our site visit in August of 2005. Almost a year and a half out. We had our site visit with Pam Pearce, who we stayed in contact with until we were assigned our Event Manager. I don't know if they have changed any rules, but I would suggest calling again and simply asking for a site visit. Good Luck!

We also met with Joe DeMatei prior to a year out. I just called and asked for a site visit. Joe has beenvery helpful! :) But you will probably get randomly assigned to someone. Good Luck! :stitch:

I also went out over a year before my planned date. I would ring again and not mention your date, just say you havent got a date set yet. I went out and went around a few of the sites and picked out where i wanted everything then on the 1 year mark i called to book. You'll get assigned to a wedding consultant - basically like a sales manager who deal with everything up untill you get assigned a wedding planer - around the 8 month mark.

I would definately ring again!

I called Disney Weddings maybe just over two weeks ago and spoke to a really great lady. She is going to send me some info in the post and said that although my wedding isn't until Nov 2007 she can now get a co-ordinator to contact me as it's within 18 months :confused3
I got my first email from Tanis Armstrong on May 23. She can't give me prices yet but is happy to answer any questions I might have.
I would try again and see if you get someone more informative and friendly

I think it depends on if you're planning on an intimate or a custom. They'll start talking to people planning custom weddings 18 months out, while intimate they'll wait until 1 year. We're doing a custom in October 2007 and we're going next month for a site visit. If you're also doing a custom, I'd definitely call back and try to get someone else.

The same thing happened to me the first time I called DFTW in March. My wedding is not until June 2007, so they told me they could not talk to me until one year out. Then I found this lovely board :goodvibes and heard they can talk to you 18 mos out. So, I called DFTW back and told them what I had heard and they set me up w/ an SM. I am a custom so maybe it varies. I did not go for a site visit, but I am sure they can help you w/ that! Best of luck to you!

Mine is an intimate so now I'm totally confused :confused3
I can't book the venue until 12 months before but I have an email contact so questions can be answered

Thanks, I called back today and got a really nice lady who took all my info and said a coordinator would get back with me by friday. :thumbsup2 I wonder why you get different responses from different people there?

Anyways thanks a bunch,
Samantha
