Site taking forever to load??

Am I the only one having this issue with the disboards? It takes forever for anything to load. All the other websites and pages I visit have no issues just the disboards site? Is there something I can do to make it go quicker??

I don't know but I'm having the same problem. I've given up twice so far today and come back later to see if the problem is any better.

It has been like this off and on at least for me for the past week or so. Sometimes it is fine but then it will be sooo slow.

I thought it was just me & my settings on FireFox or something. I upgraded my antivirus and a new version of Firefox about a week ago & I noticed the DIS pages are loading as slow as molasses now.

Very slow for me too. But I've tried to put the time to good use. I get another cup of coffee, make lunches for the next day, put the kids to bed, read a dictionary.

Maybe more people are on the boards Usually when forums are slow, it means there are a lot of people on there right now, especially around "high times"

Same here. I posted on the tech thread. I thought it was also just on my end. Once in a while it seems okay - but majority of time very, very slow and it's only with this board.

No mods have commented on it as to what the problem might be.

Mine has been loading slowly the last couple of days as well, but came right up this morning. I just assumed it was heavy traffic.

That's because the page won't load for them.

Okay, I was trying to bring up a page on a different website and it timed out. The page that came up said, check to see if your Firewall set to let Firefox through, (something like that.)

I thought when you install Firefox, it automatically adjusts the Windows Firewall, so they can work together.

I Googled & found I might have to reset my Firewall settings. I went into My Computer -> Control panel, then either Security or Windows Firewall. I looked for exceptions & Firefox was NOT listed. So I clicked on Add Programs. Scrolled down the box and clicked on FireFox. It added it into my Exceptions list.

It seems the DIS pages are loading somewhat faster now. Could be a coincidence, so I'll wait & see.

Nevermind about changing the Firewall settings. This site is back to loading S.L.O.W.L.Y on my computer again. I guess it was just a coincidence earlier.

Glad to know it is not just my computer. I have had trouble for about a week or so. I tried deleting the cookies as mentioned in another thread and it did not work. I have been on at different times of day and it does not seem to matter. I had to end internet explorer and come back a few minuites ago. It was like the screen just froze????
