We are thingking of purchasing a sit n stand stroller for our trip to wdw in march...just wondering if anyone had used one before and how it worked out...

I LOVED my sit and stand. Not just for disney but for the mall.
Disney was the last time I used it. My girls are 6 and(just turned) 4 but it was great when you had to get across the park or when you were big crowds or if they just got tired.

mom to 2 - good question! I was wondering the same thing!

mlynn-
I have read that the sit & stand fits only up to 40 lbs. (for the child in back). You said your kids are 6 & 4 - do they fit well in the stroller?
I was just worried that my 4 year old would be cramped in the back.

We used one last summer for our trip to Disney. My kids were 7 and 4 at the time. They mostly walked but it was nice to have the seat just in case and when walking back to the room at the end of the day.

LOVE our Sit N Stand for WDW. Got is just for WDW and it was great! DS5 and DD3 could get in and out as needed easily. DS is over 40 lbs and it held him great. I didn't strap them in, but when DS ended up falling asleep he leaned over the hood pushed all the way back. The front seat does not recline very much. We also took off the snack tray and foot rest (they used the bar for their feet. The storage was more than ample and it had the parents tray for drinks. I think mine was like $99 with free shipping from Walmart back in Dec. Totally worth it and cheaper than a rental for our 9 days. Oh, and it wasn't bad carrying on the plane or the busses with a one hand close.

We used the babytrend sit n stand this last Sept. and it was great. My dd (17 months at time) fit fine in the front and my DS (6 1/2) -about 50 lbs. also rode just fine in the back when he needed to. I'd use it again.

I have to say I own the sit and stand and I don't like it. So for me I won't be taking it to WDW

here are the reasons:
my 3 year old is always messing with the belt on the bench seat, I find it annoying to use and then when I don't use it my DD jumps around and jumps off.

The front footrest is always falling off. The front seat doesn't recline very well and my son isn't comfortable for a nap/ rest.

The sunshade isn't very big and only covers the front portion, and just barely.

I wish I would have returned it but by the time I figured out how much I hated it it was too late.

I love those strollers. And have already decided that when we decide to have another baby, that's what we're getting.

I think it'll be perfect for WDW...especially if you have an older child who won't ride on the back much...you'll have more storage for shopping bags. ;)

I dont like our sit n stand. No one will sit in the front and they fight over the back. And when our daughter (2) wins and gets the back, she wont stay on. I am going to try to take the foot rest off and see if that helps. But even when our daughter was a beby she wasnt comfortable in it. I am not sure what we will use

Ours would fight over the front seat. I agree it doesn't look that confortable for napping, but DD was able to zonk out when she needed. I read reviews about the foot rest not staying on before purchasing so never put it on in the first place...it helped a little with the bus--one less thing to stick out. We were just happy it was something to corral them from the crowds.

I love ours for going to the mall, but it won't be our Disney stroller.

1. The girls sit back to back and one is always bonking the other or "accidentally" pulling hair.

2. The seat doesn't recline so little one can't really nap and my older one can't really rest if needed either.

3. The canopy isn't very big.

I agree...we bought ours with Disney in mind, but after a trip to the zoo I think we are taking our Graco Quattro for DS1 and a cheap but handy umbrella stroller for DS3. I don't like the fact that the front seat does not recline fully, there is no shade for the rear child and I think it's difficult to get things in/out of the storage basket underneath.

We love our sit-n-stand by Joovy(not sure the actual name of the version we got I think it is the Joovy Cabbose or something like that. Plus we got tons of compliments when we were at WDW last year about. Where did you get? That is awesome. Etc.
You really have to look at them because they are all different. The one we ended up getting has a higher weight in the back standing then the rest. My 5 year old and 22 months old loves it.

I also picked up the Walmart one for our upcoming trip. I was at Target last night - they had them 50% off - 62.99. (If you are in Chicago, this is the one at Addison and Sacramento)

I also have the Joovy Caboose (which is the sit n stand) which I really like for around town. I wouldn't take it to WDW though because I think it's too heavy and big for carting around on buses and not as manuverable as a basic umbrella (or two). Also, neither of my kids (DD17months and DD4-1/2)have ever fallen asleep in it -- but we don't use it all that often.

We used one for our 7 & 3 yr. old on two trips last year. It holds a combined weight of 100 lbs. so my boys are now too big for it but it worked great last year. The youngest sat in the front with the snack tray and the oldest either sat, facing forward most of the time with his feet in the under-carraige cargo area, or stood while riding. I did find that it was easier to push the Sit-N-Stand when the oldest, in the back, was sitting due to the majority of the weight not being directly over the rear wheels. DS7 also had no problem falling asleep in it while sitting in the back.

Funny I found that it was easier when DS was NOT riding at all...Man he hakes it heavy.:rotfl2:

We would put the hood all the way back and and DS leaned over that...couldn't fall out.

Oh it was a lot easier when the oldest wasn't riding but I meant that when he was riding in the back it was easier to push if he was sitting as opposed to pushing it with him standing on the back. I felt like I was getting a mini workout pushing those two around, especially up some of thos inclines.

so do you think it would just be easier to have 2 lighter weight strollers or the sit n stand? I'm still torn. I kind of like the idea of one of us being able to take our youngest back to the resort and let ouor older son stay for things like parades and stuff...ugh! :confused3

We're headed for our first trip to WDW in May. I just bought a joovy caboose off craigslist for the trip (got it for $60). Just wanted to make the suggestion of checking craigslist if you plan on getting a sit-n-stand. I didn't want to pay full price for a stroller that we would most likely only use at WDW! My boys are 4 and a half and 2 and a half.--Katie
