Sirius interference with itrip?

Yesterday I was driving and listening to my ipod through my itrip (through the radio) and all of a sudden something else started coming in. I'm used to this happening when a car with an ipod drives by, but the content was strange. It was stand up comedy and was pretty raunchy (funny, though!). Anyway, I was sure it was the car in front of me, but then I turned and there were no cars and then I heard the station identification, it was Sirius satellite radio?? How in the world could I have picked that up? I wasn't even around any cars anymore. And I don't subscribe to satellite radio.

Anyone ever had this happen? I'm, just curious. Kinda new to my iTrip still.

There are two comedy channels on Sirius.. one kind of raunchy and the other kind of tame.. I like them both, they make me laugh while I am driving.. but I cannot believe you got the interference on your Itrip....wow.

I have no explanation for that particular station, but I can tell you that I have an iTrip and it's worthless. I had the same problem as you did, except it was a station where the announcers were speaking Creole. I remember getting in my van at home and I had to keep looking for interference free stations. I would often get to where I was going without even listening to one single song. It was very frustrating, I gave up on my iTrip after a month of useless use.

If the person was using a cradle and didn't have the Sirius hooked up "hard" to the radio, then the person was using the built-in FM transmitter. You both must have been using the same "station". When we use the FM transmitter built into our Sportster Replay in the house we can get it on any radio in the house, garage and vehicle in the driveway. It seems to have a long range.
