Possibly a dumb question....but who arranges this group trip and how do we decide when to go where, who stays with who, do we get any discounts for group trip, etc.?

Ok and dumber question, but have to ask....are there any guarantees that I wont meet a stalker? I know it sounds stupid, but I've already had 2 encounters with them and they are so darn annoying! :)

I really would love to go without the kids and with fellow Disney lovers, I just have some simple concerns.

Thanks! :cutie:

hello neighbor.. fellow Pa'er here.... so far we are just in the planning stages...

if you go to the 1st post of the OP there where some questions and ideas that were thrown in on what the activities and stuff going to be... nothing is final... and hoepfully no stalker in the group :faint: So far I have been very lucky I have met so many disers and they where all nice and wonderful... :grouphug:

As time goes on, there will be polls posted as to what each person would like to see happen. First matter of concern is the dates. I asked for opinions and from there made the "executive" decision to post 3 dates that seemed to fit everyone. Everyone will be respondsible for booking their own room, you can be on your own, with a friend or two or even stay else where -- totally up to you. One of our attendees is a Disney Specialist agent and she is helping with the some planning etc. We are hoping to be "considered" a Grand Gatherings which may allow for special discounts, tours, outtings, etc. Every event will be voted on and as long as there is enough people interested in that particular event, it will happen. You don't have to do it all, but if you want to it will be planned so that you can, hopefully. (I know I want to do as many non-kid friendly activities as I can without my kids in tow)
There are no guarentee that there won't be a "stalker". I would hope not but they are out there. I think the beauty of the way we are doing things is that no one is tied to any one person, unless you chose to be with them. You are choosing what you want to do, the group will not do it all and be together constantly.
The purpose for this trip is to get like minded, Disney adults, most with kids, away to relax, be in the happiest place on earth and experience things that they normally wouldn't be able to do. Most of all ..... it is meant for fun and if someone does find the mate of their dreams ......:cheer2: we should all get an invitation to the wedding !!!! LOL
I hope this answers some of your questions ..... and remember - you can participate in all or very few of the events !!!!!:rotfl:
Stay tuned for more details !!!!!! Only 17 months to go !!!!

In alphabetical order, they are .....

Oh My... we're alphbetical :):rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: The funny thing is... being just waking up... I read it as not in alphabetical order and then looked at the list.

No worries though! Am going to WDW today!!! and yes... I just came home from there on Monday :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Very well said Jen. As far as stalkers, I would think they have other things to spend their time on than the DIS boards. The thing is unless you choose to room with someone or go off on your own with a specific person, this situation doesn't put you in any more/less danager than you are every day. I know people on the cruisemeet board have ended up rooming together as they felt they know the person by the time the trip comes.

The key to this doing whatever you are most comfortable with and what works with your budget. Since resort reservations can't be made for another few months (and really don't have to be made for a while), you can defiently think on it. We can put up a "room mate wanted thread" later and it will be up to the individuals to find a match they are comfortable with.

Hey Jen - any news from BaB?

Thank you so much. That makes me feel much better about the whole thing and thanks for not making me feel like an idiot for asking. :flower3:

This way I have time to get to know some of the people going a little better and see if there is someone who I trust enough to room with to save a few bucks.

Now, I am getting excited about the trip! I'd love to do the segway tour thing if we can get it a little cheaper as a group package, I might even be able to afford it. I've always wanted to try one of those things, they are just to nifty! :goodvibes

Thanks again, you all really are the bestest!!!! :cool1:

Thanks a bunch :thanks: ... I just hope I can make everyone happy !!! :jumping1: In mid June I am going to start asking for tour ideas :moped: (including Segway !!) to find out people's interests. We can't book anything for tours until next May but it gives us time to fine tune everything. Then ..... I'll start collecting who wants to do which ones and hopefully my Christmas time we will have a basic idea of what we are working with. :tink: Tinkerbelle will then be residing at my house to sprinkle her pixie dustpixiedust: and make the magic happen !!!! LOTS of surprises for us all :stir: !!!!!!!!!!!

:ccat: :donald: :simba: :stitch: :dumbo: :sulley: :tigger: :figment: :goofy: :hmghost: :mickeyjum

:grouphug: BIg hug from us all ..... the only requirements for the trip is being single, and loving all things Disney !!!!:woohoo:

Hmmm, seeing that it's looking like October '09....that's a long time away...some may fall off the requirements list! ...and then come right back on! :rotfl2:

I suspect once people buy their tickets, they are commiting to being single until after the trip! (or at least until the trip starts...) :hippie:

If it's the last week of October, I can't go due to work conflicts. I'm pretty limited to mid-month vacations. :)

Never thought of that...maybe that is what has done me in. I need to stop committing to singles events:lmao: :lmao:

Crap, I didn't think about that... although I really would like a "single" disney vacation...hmmm.... I know, if I suddenly and miraculously (sp?) end up in a relationship between now and then, I'll break it off just before the trip :thumbsup2

If I am dating someone... Im bringing him with me! or else he is staying home... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I was thinking somewhere in the beginning Jen said something about that... maybe I am dreaming again....

Oh... Mickey says HI!!! I just couldnt stay away!

*sigh* when are we going back to WDW???

 :goodvibes

Something to pass the time away until the poll is done ....

Just from what I have read in a bunch of different threads and posts, I think it is safe to assume that we are all romantics at heart. The idea of being swept off our feet, dining with our perfect Disney partner, snugging together to watch Wishes in front of Cinderella's Castle, and strolling hand in hand down Main Street with "When You Wish Upon A Star" playing in the background at the end of the night may be a dream "date" for a lot of us. I thought it would be fun if we list our "Perfect Disney Date". You never know who may read this ..... maybe your future partner will read this and take notes !!!!
So take a little time, imagine yourself with the special someone, and describe what your perfect date would be (please keep it "G" rated -- little ones may read this !! LOL :scared1: ). Have fun !!!!!!

I hope everyone has a safe Memorial Day and take advantage of your day off ..... wish I could up here in Canada !!!! :dance3:

By this you meant a date after the "getting to know you stage" right??? Hmmmm have to ponder on that thought...

But if you ask a 1st hang out meet.. I do.. I do have an answer!!!

well 1st of course you arrange a meeting spot.. where ?? well if after talking to him he is more .......

tame than me :lmao: well it would have to be

- an early breakfast at CP ~ so we can chit chat more and also have an excuse to be busy getting food if you ran out of things to say.... and also atleast if he feels that there is no interest in his part pursuing the friendship he will not have to waste a full day of his!! But then if he dont mind hanging out... then after breakfast we trek around MK doing the rides and chit chat more and ride some more!!!

if not so tame...

- then its going to be by the TOT ride... chit chat and get to know talk while waiting for the line and this is after we got our PF at RNR and or TSM... then a meal at Primetime cafe!!!

if he dont mind wasting a day with me...

-then it will be a BBQ at SSR pool by Congress... then a game of mini golf.. or a trek/Segway at Fort Wilderness!!

There those are my thoughts for a 1st hang out meet.. not considered a date... 2 people... meetign friends... no expectations no wishful thinking... just meeting a friend and be able to hang out and enjoy and share the love for Disney!!!

"also maybe we can encorporate a margarita drink somewhere in between....":lmao: :thumbsup2
