I'm tired of the dull flavor that my regular brewed coffee maker makes (Mr. Coffee). I heard that the pod or single brew makers made a really great cup of coffee. Does anyone out there have one they love and/or know of a great deal on one?? Also, where do you buy your pods? Do the pods end up being too expensive?

TIA!

The kuerig is by far the best i have used. you can use k cups or any ground coffee you want with the adapter. makes 1 cup at a time. the b40 is $99 and the adapter is $15. what makes it great is that you can buy any coffee you want.

We went through three machines before falling in love with the Keurig B70 Platinum. The coffee is incredible, and the fact you can use the k-cups OR use the adapter with your own grounds, is perfect for our family.

I would have to say of the units we tried, the Tassimo and the Melita machines were the worst.

We also have the Keurig B40.....the B60 and B70 basically are the same machine with more bells and whistles.....and really like it. I will say, however, there are four of us in our household and it can get expensive to buy K-cups. I buy them online (not from the Keurig company) and found a place that's pretty reasonable and they carry all brands. We also continue to use our regular brewer and basically use the Keurig for flavored coffees and teas (some of the teas are fantastic).

:thumbsup2 Keurig here too. Love it.:thumbsup2

I tend to be a one or two cup a day person.I buy the K-cups from Amazon, when they have what I want available. Where else to people order them from?

I have a Black & Decker pod coffee maker. I don't really like it too much. It leaks underneath and is kinda loud when it is running. I also think the pods are kind of on the expensive side and if the stores are out of them, your pretty much out of luck. I think that I wil get rid of the one I have and try another type of coffee maker.

I have the Kuerig special edition B60 and love it!!!!

the my K cup adapter is great -- because it will use any ground coffee--

But there are over 150 varieties of tea, coffee and hot chocolate available in Kcups that there is really something for anyones taste.

I have the Bunn My Cafe which I absolutely love. It is a bit pricey but it makes a fabulous cup of coffee. Before I bought it I used the following site for research. They have message boards as well as reviews on Single serve coffee makers as well as the many different brands of coffee.

Another vote for the Keurig!

I have the middle of the road model...I think it is the 60? It brews great coffee! I get the K-cups online from greatcoffee. Shipping is free for orders of 6 boxes or more, and the coffee arrives quickly, usually the next day.

Good luck!

We love our Keurig (got it with a 20% off coupon at Bed Bath and Beyond). I also get the coffee there-I use the coupon (20%) on each box $9.99 before the discount. They usually have many flavors.

Love our Keurig as well. Granted I don't think it's quite as good as a freshly ground bean brewed in a good machine, but it's still darn good and you can't beat the convenience. For instance, I like dark roasts and DH likes medium roasts....this way we can each have what we want and it only takes a few seconds.

We bought our Keurig from Costco, where they had the B50 for $129 with a k-cup adapter, 4 boxes of k-cups, and another box of a variety pack of k-cups. The one thing I wish this version had was the smaller 5 oz brew. I know the later versions offer 3 sizes and I think the B70 has a better extraction method.

I also found the website and forum singleservecoffee.com . That's how I've found really great coupons, reviews on kcups, etc. I also learned from here that sometimes a k-cup can be improved by stopping the brew just as it starts to pour out, letting it sit 20-30 seconds, then starting it again...it improves the extraction. But anyway, that website will also give you good information on other types of single serve coffee brands like the tassimo, senseo, etc.

There are also some websites that will sell you individual pod or cup flavors/types so that you can test them out before buying an entire box. They're more expensive one at a time, but cheaper than spending money on a large box and it going to waste.

Good luck!

P.S. Fair warning, it's addictive! I drink a LOT more coffee now than I used to ;)

Another vote for the Keurig here. The k-cups do get a little expensive so I bought the adapter as well.

My favorite brand in the K-cups is Timothy's.

In terms of K-Cups - since we're Canadian, our access is pretty much limited to Timothy's. The best part with Timothy's is I know the local store manager - so I buy 4 boxes, my 5th is free. Not to mention they have a large flavour selection, and if I request certain flavours (direct via John from the factory) - it comes in freshly ground in the last 7 days.

My MIL (LOVE my MIL! LOL) got us a top of the line Keurig last year for Christmas and we LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! We have a toddler who is a VERY early riser and there's nothing more wonderful at 5:30am than just putting a cup under the spout, popping in a k-cup and hitting the brew button! I don't like superstrong coffee and I like big mugs of it so the one we have (B70?) with the multiple cup sizes is perfect for us.

I mostly buy online at Amazon, $10 for a box of 25, generally we buy Green Mountain Nantucket Blend or Vermont Blend. Have to buy 4 boxes at a time to get free shipping. I've also ordered from several other sites when I've had coupon codes, etc.

We now buy 'to go' cups at BJs (with lids) and don't buy DD or Starbucks on the way to work anymore. So even though the K-cups are pricier than regular ground coffee...they're WAY cheaper than a daily cup of DD or SB!

I have the melita...dont care for it...
i get the pods online as they at least have some taste to it...the ones at our local grocery are stale beyond belief...

eventually brought it to the office because it just wasn’t getting any use at home....can say at least its used to make tea now…lol…

I"ve bought DH two of the Black & Deckers. The first one broke within a few months. The second said "new and improved" and he liked the function so much of the first one I bought him a second one. Bought it for Christmas last year and it just quit working about a week ago. It was getting a little harder to find pods for it. There were lots of flavors in all the stores when they first came out.

I have never found the pre-measured pods to be strong enough coffee for me. I much prefer making my own espresso. I have the KitchenAid Proline and love it.

Another vote for the Keurig ( ihave the 60 model). Timothy's and Green Mountain are probaly among my favs so far. I have been buying my K-Cups from: Bed Bath & Beyond, Linen's N Things, and most recently Kohl's. Yep, found them at Kohl's last week for all those that have a Kohls close by.....they had them on sale for 9.99 then I had a 30% off, I thought I struck gold at that price $7/box. I only bought 3 (for me) and grabbed 3 for a friend...I wish I would have gotten more after I thought about it.
