Single Rider Question??

My DH co-worker was talking to him about some thrill rides like tower of terror, rockin' roller coaster, etc and DH told him there was no way me and DD were getting on that. The co-worker told DH that there is a single rider line that he can get in if he is going to ride by himself that goes really fast, sometimes faster than fast pass. Is this true?
TIA

Ahhh the single rider line. I rode it for 2 or 3 rides, and in my experiences (in may, uncrowded) it wasn't faster. They only use it to fill empty spots, so if theres 6 people per cart and theres 5 people, youll get on, if theres a group of 3, or a group of 2, the ride handler will ask the line if theres any groups of 2 or 3 to fill the spots before even concidering the single rider line. In my experiences most of the ride handlers acted like they didnt care about the single riders at all, and if they could avoid using single riders they would at all costs. One CM was so rude as to even say to me "There's really no point in doing single rider, your line doesn't matter half as much as the stand-by line" I was shocked.

But yes it does exist! Have your DH try it for a ride and see how long it takes, other wise I just say ride standby (if the wait it short,) or just do fastpass.

What is standby? Is it a seperate line? Sorry, this is our first time...well I went as a teenager and DH went when he was 3...so long time ago...it is the first time we go as a family and DD very first time!!!
TIA

IIRC, stand-by is the fast pass line. There's the regular line, the stand by line (fast pass) and sometimes the single rider line. Not every ride has single rider though. My DS used single rider for Expedition Everest, and it was faster than the regular line. In order of preference, FP, single rider, regular.

Stand by is the regular line that all guest get into :) Then theres the fastpass line which you get a fastpass at a fastpass machine using your ticket, then return between the time it says on the ticket, and use the quicker, shorter fastpass line. :)

I did the single rider line at EE. I had the baby swap pass, but then they just opened the single rider line, so I was the first one in it. I was on the ride in about 1 min from the time I entered the line.

At Test Track, it can go pretty slow - unless its the start of the day, generally better to use fast pass.
