We will be at IoA on Dec. 19th. It is our first trip and we are going to see WWoHP. I know that it is going to be incredibly busy, but we can't go any other time. Should we plan on going on the single rider line if it is a really long wait in the regular line? My kids are 11 and 13 so I think they'd be fine if they weren't with us. What do you think?

We plan on doing the regular line at least once to see more of the castle on the way to the ride. For re-rides we will most likely dot he single rider line.

Do it. And be sure to go through the Castle Tour Line if the regular line is too long. That way you get to ride with a reduced rate (albeit not together) AND see most of the castle!

Um, far be it from me to go against the Dark Marauder, but the Castle Tour line is different then the single-rider line, no?

I think he is saying to do them separately and get the best of both worlds instead of waiting for 90 minutes in the regular line.

This. I meant that she should do either single rider first, then go through the castle tour line, or vice versa.

single rider line is different, you miss almost everything...but its worth it, I did it these past 4 days and walked right on.
I also did regular line a couple of times and although its kinda neat its not worth 90 mins of your touring time.

and as far as them riding alone...you don't really see each other while riding..so they would be fine.

Okay. Thought maybe, but the way it was worded as an alternative to the regular line threw me off the trail.... Me colaj ejukatd.

When I went last oct., I didn't really notice the single rider line. We'll be there for a few hours on the 18th so we'll definitely need it this trip. Where do I pick it up?

It is just going to be myself and my 11 year old this trip. I hate being seperated, but know we won't have the time for the regular line. I'm thinking I'll go first so I'll be one waiting for her to get off. Good idea??

Just past the lockers there is a TM there directing traffic. Look immediately to your left at the TM for a set of stairs leading up. That's the SR line. Or, just ask the TM.

I would think an 11yo would be fine. The exit to the ride is in Filch's (a large store by HP standards but still small by any other), so you could agree to meet in there.

The single rider line is pretty tough to find and the sign is tiny. I think that is part of the reason the line stays so short!! Follow mesaboy2's directions and you'll be fine. Just be aware that you are pretty much looking for an unmarked set of stairs. ;)

I've seen single riders extend down the stairs on really, really, really busy days, but most of the time it's a great option. Just one thing to be aware of: one day DH and I did it and were in separate cars. I could not find him anywhere when I got off the ride! Finally I called him and it turns out his car got pulled off onto the alternate platform for disabled riders and he had a heck of a time finding his way out. That doesn't happen a lot but could explain things if a family member disappears.

We always do single riders on every ride we possibly can when the parks are crowded. We set a meeting area for all of us to meet at when we get off the ride. This covers all bases for when you are not in the same car and things tend to happen. Always set your meeting area ahead of time, point it out prior to going on the ride too. I just hope that with the Holiday crowds, they keep the single riders open on FJ. Universal has a habit that when the crowds get too thick, they tend to shut down the single riders. I hate when they do that to Spidy! :headache:
Nothing worse than knowing it is crowded and you have a 90 minute wait for Spidy, I just skip the ride. I refuse to wait that long. I will not spend the money to purchase express passes either. Call me cheap, or what ever you want. I just don't like the fact that if you have more money than the next person, you can get in the front of them. I am a passholder & a Fl resident. I go too often to be purchasing express passes. I cannot afford that. It isn't a vacation for me, but a fun day/days at a theme park. So if the lines are too long, I skip it and go on it another trip. Now back to FJ... so anyway... I do hope that they don't close down the single riders on that over the holidays.

If Standby is longer than 15-20 minutes I definitely recommend doing the single rider line in combination with the Castle Tour instead of standing around for a long time

The only thing I remember missing was the greenhouses and they are not really worth the extra wait IMO.

Besides, with the Caste Tour you get to take your time and take pictures without being hurried up by the ride attendants.
