Single Rider Line Length

Because of DD, we will be doing a mixture of FP, single rider, and child swap on some of the headliners. We know that Indi, Splash (for DH only, most likely...I'm going to see how wet he gets), CS, and Soarin' have single rider lines. We will not be doing ST or GRR.

How long can these lines get? Our only experiences with single rider lines are Aerosmith at HS (which was typically about 30 minutes) and Everest at AK (which typically took 10 minutes).

We leave in a few days, and I'm trying to determine the best time of day to ride these rides. RideMax only has Splash and Soarin' single rider options, so I'm not sure how to figure up the times.

Screamin' Single rider runs from 3-10 min. Not sure of the others.

In all cases be aware of nearby attractions that spouse & todler can enjoy (possibly multiple times) while other spouse does single rider & spouses switch.

- Next to Screamin' is Triton's Carousel. (best to do CS before or after you do Toy Story)
- Next to Indy is the Tree House.
- Next to Splash is Winnie Pooh (& pooh corner).....maybe do it when the characters are out in pooh corner?

skiingfast, i think that Screamin's single rider is way to the "left" of the FP & Standby lines (i would ask a CM when the OP gets there....it's hard to find). A person has to enter thru a gate, take an elevator up, walk across & down the stairs to the loading.

It sounds like the lines shouldn't be too bad, then. Are some of the single rider lines clearly marked? I remember signs at Everest and Aerosmith posted above the line entrance. We should be able to walk up all 3 of us and get whatever they give you for rider swap, right?

The single rider lines vary for all the attractions. We honestly found it faster to use FP and child swap since some of the single rider lines were so unpredictable. On Indiana Jones and California Screamin, you go in the same line guests with disabilities would use and go up and down the elevator with them to the loading area. Both took a long time because there were so many people waiting and we had to go through so many different ups and downs. We did FP the next time for them.

I would NOT use the Soarin' single rider line. It could take forever for a single spot to open up since it's more of an auditorium ride and they can load in so many people, and who knows how many cycles you might have to wait! We asked the CM at the entrance, and she said it could take anywhere from 5 minutes or the entire wait of the standby line (which was 50 minutes at that point)!

I thought the Splash single rider line worked best. You enter from the exit (it's clearly marked) and walk right into the loading area. It took me about 1 minute to get on once I walked all the way through. They were moving a lot of people through it very efficiently.

The two that were the fastest with child swap were Matterhorn and Space where they let me enter through the exit and go straight to the boarding area. The others I had to go through the FP line with my child swap card.

I did SRL for Splash yesterday and it took about 20 min. It seemed that they were trying their darndest NOT to take people from the SRL! I think it was bc there were four girls in front of me that were "singles" but all wanted to ride together and it annoyed the CM, rightfully so.

Also, does anyone know what they changed about the loading area during the refurb? It all looked the same to me!

That stinks. I've always made it on within 10 minutes when the line has at least been on the steps up the bridge. I've only seen it longer a couple times, that I've been looking at least.

I'm 95% convinced it took so long because of the four obnoxious teen girls in the front. Even though they were all single riders, which means they agree to ride ALONE, they were really making a scene about riding together. When the CM would ask the general line for a party of four, they would shout out "right here, right here!" causing the CM to change to "Is there anyone in MY LINE that has a group of four??". Then, when there finally was ONE seat available, the CM asked for one of the girls from the single rider line and they kind of all turned to each other sadly deciding which one of them should go first, holding up the line. The CM was visibly annoyed, as was I frankly! Then after the one girl went alone, the (now) three girls repeated the same stunt every time the CM asked for a group of three, then two, etc.!

The SRL should be for people that don't care where they sit or with whom! In my last few trips I've noticed more and more teenagers using it as a way to cut in line and then hopefully still get to sit together ("darn kids" in my curmudgeonly voice)

We single ridered Indy multiple times last week, and we have done it in the past. It is not clear where the single rider line is on that one, the sign just says to "inquire". You ask the CM standing at the entrance about the single rider line and they will give you a "single rider pass" and send you up the exit (which is where people with disabilities also go). When you get up there, one of two things happens, they either put you at the handicap entrance to wait for a single spot there, or they just filter you in with the regular line when you get to that point (near the front of the line) and then when you get to the front they stick you in a row of the vehicle that has one spot open. Last week, I was filtered into the regular line each time and my pass was not even taken, so I just exited and gave my pass to my husband to switch each time. The wait was never more than about 5-10 minutes (except the time the ride broke down- and FYI you are basically in a cave with no cell phone reception), but be aware that it will take some time because it is a hike to get to the front of the line. Indy is not to be missed!!!!!

We didn't single rider Screamin last week, but we have done it in the past. It is about like single ridering Everest. You just never know what you are going to get. On time I walked right on, and on time I had a 15-20 minute wait. That line is clearly marked.

Soarin, if you can FP it instead of single rider line I would. We have done that one, and found the wait can be fairly long because it is so easy for them to get the right numbers from the regular and fast pass lines to fill up the rows. Again, that one is clearly marked.

Ive only done it one time and I waited a total of 5mins on California screamin. Touring plans wait app will tell you how long the single rider lines are but you have to pay for touring plans (which isn't so bad its pretty awesome) which is 8 dollars for the year.

I used the single rider line last month for California Screamin. You ask the cm by the fastpasses for a single rider pass. Then you go over to the handicapped entrance which leads down to the platform. Most of the time they tell you to take the elevator up and over and back down to the main platform. I've never had to wait more than 5 min total.

That's funny.

I know many people have mentioned the same about Screamin' (that it can be a pain or take a long time). But I've Single ridden it 8-10 times & never had more than a 5 min. wait. I'll probably have a 20 min. wait next time.

Amazing that people who get in that line don't know what SINGLE means. Hey Skiingfast....can you imagine 4 people getting in the SINGLE line of a ski lift & holding up the line (because they want to ride together). There's be fisticuffs.

Single Rider is for people who aren't going to raise a fuss when they are separated. There were some of those folks on Screamin' when I was there in May. They came down the elevator and were going to be assigned rows and kept insisting they were a party of two. The CMs were annoyed because when they asked for a party of two up the line, the single riders were jumping up and down to go. They were ignored.

I, too, have always had good luck on Screamin' for single rider. I don't think I have ever waited more than 10 minutes. Splash is also usually good for me, 10 minutes at most. Indy can be hit or miss, but normally works out well. I have never done Soarin' single rider, but don't imagine it would be the best. I would FP that if possible.

Everyone keeps telling me to not do SR for Soarin', but that's one that Ridemax has available. I plug it in SR, and it says I have time for it in the parameters I've given about (15 minutes coming in around 5 p.m.). Take out SR, and I don't have time.

We'll probably be able to play DCA by ear as we have enough time in the park to do everything without being too stressed. DL rides were more what I was concerned with as Indi and SM are high on our priority lists, more than likely riding each twice (so 4 separate times, I guess you could say).

I used the Single Rider line for Splash and Screamin and GRR this week. I used FP for Soarin.

Splash the line was HORRIBLE! They wouldn't even let us que up inside. They said there was already about 30 people in line inside so they wouldn't let us in. Finally after about 20 minutes we got to go in. (The standby line was 90 minutes!) Once inside the line went very quickly! I have a feeling people were getting back in the SRL without exiting so it made the line look like it wasn't moving to the SM holding us outside.

Screamin you just have to watch and see how many people are waiting. If they are loading the coaster from both sides of the platform then the SRL tends to go pretty quickly. I rode it 3 times in 23 minutes yesterday.

GRR also went very quickly. I love this ride on hot days... Rode it 3 times in a row as well but I can't remember how long that took me. I was completely soaked though!!
