Are you allowed to use rider swap when going through the single rider line? My husband and I are traveling in April with our baby and I'm trying to figure out how we can best ride MFSR.

Can my husband wait in the single rider line while I hold the baby, and then I use RS to go through the FP line? Or is that not allowed?

Or is it better for us to just take turns going through the single rider line?

So much more to think about/plan for when traveling with a baby 🤪

I don't think you'd be able to combine the two because they wouldn't be able to code the "return" time. Single rider doesn't have a wait time attached to it.

You could give it a shot, but you're probably better off just riding standby in the evening when the waits typically drop.

Good point, I didn't think about that.

I’m in the same boat! We are going with our 10 month old in April. I thought I read you could do this? I know Test Track has an actual wait time for single rider posted. Will wait for other replies!

Perhaps I am over-thinking this... but isn't the idea of a single rider line to be a single rider? If so, who are you doing a rider swap with? (Yes, I realize that people go in groups through the single rider line, but IMHO it kind of goes against the spirit of what single rider is there for, and so I wouldn't be surprised if WDW doesn't accept a rider swap in a line that, in theory, is only supposed to be for one rider)

We will be single riders...it will just be me and my husband with our baby so we will have to take turns riding by ourselves. I am asking if we can use rider swap so only one of us has to wait in the single rider line and then the other person rides (as a single) using the FP line.

Ahhh.. that makes total sense. I hope there is a way for you guys to figure it out!

Edit: my only experience with rider swap has been at Universal, where everyone (including the kiddos who cant ride) wait in the main queue, then one person and the non-rider go to a specific area, wait for the group to ride, then swap the child, and the last person hops right on and rides, thus part of my confusion, as it doesn't sound like this is how Disney handles it.

Yeah, at Disney if someone isn't tall enough, they can't enter the queue at all, so the rider swap allows one adult to enter the line and ride while the other waits outside the line with the little one. When they're back, that adult goes in the FP line.

OP, I have used single rider with rider swap in the past, but it has been a few years. From what I've heard, it lately seems to be up to the CM on whether or not they allow it. A couple things to think about with Smugglers Run though: 1) I believe single rider would skip all of the fun elements of the queue, if that's important to you, and 2) A lot of reports are saying that those doing single rider are stuck with the Engineer position, which seems to be the least favorite assignment (with Pilot and Gunner being more popular). Those things may not matter to you, but just wanted to make you aware. If you decide to try for single rider+rider swap, please report back on whether you were successful or not.

No - Single rider has nothing to do with your party size it is simply to fill up seats that would otherwise go empty. They only requirement of single rider is that your willing to ride alone, even the signage says that parties will be spilt up and assigned to the next available seat!

That said our experience with SR and RS is 50/50, most recently it was a no at TT.

Thanks for the input! I will be sure to come back and comment on this thread if we attempt it. We ended up getting FP for it but might try to ride more than once.

I would just ask cast member at the beginning of line which he/she thought was more time efficient. I remember being told just to do single rider on certain rides because it would be a shorter wait time then bothering with rider swap.
