We are booked on a cruise with another family(March 5th) but I am the single parent of mine. My darling DH passed away a couple of years ago... he was the biggest Disneyholic I knew and we cruised together with DD's(now 11 and 14) before he died. Can't say how important THAT cruise was!!!!

Any suggestions for the single mom who isn't interested in finding a date but would love to find other single moms on the cruise to hang out with?

I suggest doing what interests you! Sign up for your cruise on the 'meets' board and plan to get together with any other DISers. Talk to people by the pool, and in Cove cafe. Go to some of the semiars and definitely go to the single travelers lunch. You'd be surprised how many people you meet who are either single or traveling alone, of both genders. And, it's real low key, nothing like a 'dating' situation at all. I'm married, but have cruised with friends and we've all kinda gone our seperate ways, so I know I DEFINITELY would run a mile from any kind of 'dating'. lol

I agree with LindaBabe, search the Meet Boards and get involved in activities. There are several single parents and older siblings with other older siblings or parents that sail Disney just because they enjoy the atmosphere. Even though I am married, I joined in the meet boards and we met other couples that we enjoyed spending time with. You may just find that you will make a new lifelong friend.

Sorry for your loss. My husband too passed away 2 and a half yrs ago. I decided to take my children on a 4 night disney cruise to try and "cheer us up". We loved it. We are booked for 7 night in Oct. 2005. They will be 10 and 11. It's a shame we're not traveling on the same date. I will be with lots of family, but I will be the only single in the group.

I will have to check out the singles travelers lunch. Is it mentioned in the Navigator? I don't remember seeing that last time.

Let me second LindaBabe's suggestion to check out the Cruise Meet Thread for your cruise. If you can't find one, start one. On our cruise last may we had several single moms with kids, some non-mom singles, and a single dad with kid in addition to the families and couples. Several of them planned ahead to go to Palo as a group and we all met at a Dis Meet the first afternoon on board. It really made the cruise a lot more fun to meet folks you'd been "chatting" with on the Cruise Meet thread and I know it gave the single parents some immediate friends on the ship.

I agree - get on the cruise meet board. On our recent cruise, I had a ton of fun visiting with other DIS members and I did go to one of the Disney Adult seminars (making an appetizer) with another DIS lady because the DH wasn't interested.

Sounds like you are linked with the other family so your dinner seating will be all taken care of. If not, I'd link up with a compatable DIS board family/person. Much better than taking your chances I think.

We are actually going on the March3rd and I am a single mother as well. I have several of the same questions and have not really been able to find anyone on the Cruise meets board. What is the single travelers lunch and does anyone know if they have that on the 3 night cruise?

You will see it noted in the navigator as a time to "come meet & eat with your cruise staff" with the location for that day listed. It seems to be there for every sea day.
