I'm leaving Friday for a long weekend with my 3 little kids. My boys are 8 and 9 and my dd is 6. DD is tall enough for every ride we have planned except for RNR. I booked 4 FP's hoping that she would grow that extra inch but that didn't happen...lol.

How can I make this work? My plan is to have all 4 of us just wait in line and I'll let my boys ride and I'll just step off with dd through the chicken exit. My question is, can my boys ride alone because they're so young and if they can, can they go twice since dd and I won't be using our FP's.

Alternatively, can I kinda do a parent swap and I go twice and leave dd and 1 of the boys off to the side, or are they too young to stand alone? I'm assuming they can't, just for liability. The boys are so excited for this one so I'd like to make it happen for them.

Thanks!!

They are old enough, in Disney's eyes, to ride alone. If your daughter isn't tall enough, she won't be allowed in the queue.

You could do rider swap, but to me, that makes no sense. If they are old enough to wait with their younger sister, they are old enough to be in the queue, together.

The boys can ride together since they are both at least 7. They can use your FPs - just switch magic bands for their second turn.

They could actually get 4 rides, if you want. Book 4 FPs. When they use the first two, get a child switch pass. Then when they use the second two, get another child switch pass. Use the switch passes any time that day or later in the week.

Or, book just 2 FPs for them and use yours and your daughter's for something else. Boys still get to ride twice, once with the FPs and once with the switch pass.

your plan will not work as daughter will not even be allowed in line as she is too short and as others have said the boys are over 7 so they can get in line together but unless you leave daughter by self near the exit you will not be able to be in line with the boys. you could do the rider swap but do you want your daughter to have to wait for both groups to ride? with the rider swap the waiting group will have to wait out side of line somewhere you would decide to have them wait. and yes they could use both sets of bands if there is enough time in your window

Yes, it is a lot of waiting for that too small DD, if you use loopholes to let the boys go multiple times. But, to each their own.

I thought the boys had to be over 12 to ride alone so I'm thrilled to hear that they just need to be over 7. They can't get into too much trouble in the FP line since it goes fairly quick and there's no way to wander off so I'm ok with letting them go alone. DD and I can just wait in the store at the end of the ride.

I've never heard of the child switch pass. What's that and how would I qualify for that? It sounds different than the rider swap.

Switching bands might be our best bet if that is possible too. I didn't think of that. DD will just have to suck it up and wait for her brothers. She and I can enjoy a little time out together and grab a snack while we wait. We don't get much one on one girl time together so I'll make it fun.

Thanks for helping me!

Your older two are old enough to ride alone and wait alone if you decide they can handle anything that could occur while doing so. I would definitely use a fast pass for this at least for the two boys and even still this can take a long time due to the preshow.

If you decide you really want to ride then I would also consider if the child is watching the 6yo could handle a circumstance out of the ordinary. Sudden illness or injury to either of them, ride stoppage and a delay by you and so forth.

You are entitled to a RS pass if you decide to ride - no loophole here but I agree with a PP it would be a long time for the 6yo to be waiting for two trips through RnRc unless you took her to another ride or show while the boys were riding (and imho they might be a bit young for me personally to do that!)

On another slightly OT subject I am here now and they are actively enforcing the rule that children under 7 must be seated next to someone over 14 so be prepared to ride with your 6yo on all rides while the older two sit together. There is even a video screen in TSMM depicting this !

I would check with the CM at the beginning of the line if you and your daughter could go in the line and take the chicken way out where the boys would load in the cars. They might allow that.
Edit: I should read the whole post! I see you plan on walking with the boys in line.

Have a great time.

Child swap/rider swap IS the same thing.

@tmjw2727 it IS a loophole if you utilize rider swap to let the same kids ride multiple times while the single parent sits out with the too small child.

Child swap and rider switch are the same.

A child under 7 needs to be accompanied by a person 14 and older. A child 7+ is fine to go through lines and ride alone.

They won't allow it.

Disney doesn't allow too-small kids into the ride lines.

At Universal, yes. Disney, no.

I would send the boys through the fastpass line by themselves. I would NOT suggest leaving your kids to ride the ride. Even with a fastpass, once you get to the preshow, it can take 15 minutes or so and I have gotten stuck for ride stoppage. I was stressed having my husband with my nursing toddler, I can't imagine the stress I would feel if it were my children by themselves.

I also do not suggest having the boys ride 4 times because the daughter is too short. Can we just say that is begging RESENTMENT? Not only do they get to ride, but they get 2 free rides just because I'm too short. I'd be very upset if I were your daughter in that scenario.

And unfortunately, there isn't much to do over by RnR. They had the club cool dance party for a bit, but I think I heard they did away with that.

I agree that 4 rides would be too much even for me to wait through. 1-2 is ok. I'm trying to let go of the reigns a bit with the boys but I'm still mom so I've got that anxiety too. As soon as they got into line and into the building, I'd probably take DD around the corner, grab a treat, then wait at the gift shop where the ride dumps out to make sure that they don't wander off afterwards. I'd want to walk them back into the line again to make sure they're safe, if we have time for a second ride.

On the other hand, the YOUNGEST child gets to be ALONE with her mom for over an hour. How rare is that??? Even in a family of 2 kids it can be rare and a treat to get alone time, when you're the younger one. Usually they have to wait until the olders all grow up and leave to get that.

(says the oldest of 5 in total, who got 2 lovely years of my mom to myself, and my full brother had to wait until he was in 10th grade to get 3 years alone with her)

That said, it's too bad the teen isn't going as well, because IF she were willing, she would be most useful to watch the littlest. (and then it's fun sister time!) (25 years difference between me and the youngest, my half-sis...and if only our shared dad were a better human, we would have gotten to spend more time together over the years...alas, that is not our lot in life)

Omg, I would have loved it if my teenager were there. Im going through a crappy divorce and my teenager isn't living with me so it's just me and the little peeps. I invited her but she's been plenty of times and spending the week in a hotel room with her little sibs is her idea of torture so she's saving me the money and the aggravation. So be it. :sad1:

My little one will be thrilled to have me to herself, like you said. The four of us are always together so the boys will feel really grown up going alone and my dd will enjoy the special time. I'm not much of a worry wort but I am cautious so I'll be waiting for them close by. It's nice with that ride because there's only one way in and out of that particular area so as long as I'm by the entrance, they can't get away from me. Who knows...maybe my dd will sprout that extra half inch this week. With shoes on, she almost makes it.

Maybe she will. Also, you are taller at the start of the day so you might have better luck if you go early!

Have you watched YouTube videos of RNR? Do they like rollercoasters, dark and loud? I only aske because my DD was so excited to go to RNR and was finally tall enough on our last trip but she proceeded to FREAK OUT on the ride. I'm not sure if I could have prepared her better or if she's just destined to be a drama queen.

I've talked about the ride in a causal way so they don't scare themselves. They're fun kids so I know that they'll love it. My kids are thrill seekers. The ER staff know us on a first name basis. I'm about to start inviting them to family get togethers, we see them so much.

the too short child will not even be allowed in the line. that is a hard fast rule

switching bands is easy. you would have FPs for all 4 of you. the boys ride using their bands then assuming there is enough time left in your window the boys would use your band and your daughter's band for the second ride. child switch pass would be the same as rider swap pass. and as others have said any ride any ride that you ride your daughter will have to ride with you while the boys ride together. have a great trip
