Single.. First Time... How/What to do in Disneyland?

My friend is going to DL for the first time and he is going alone. I gave him as much FYI as I could, but I have never done DL alone.

What help/advise can you pass on for me to pass on to him?

Have fun.

Walk as fast or slow as he wants, without caring about others in his party.

Use the Single Rider lines on the rides that have them (Screamin', Grizzly when the lines are long (even in the normal line they'll have him fill in a space in a not-full raft), Mulholland Madness, Splash, Maliboomer...are there more?).

Eat what he wants when he wants.

I know you know this Molly, and just forgot, but SOARIN also has single rider. Depending on when he is going, they may have the single rider available on TSMM.

Whew, can't believe I forgot that one! Remembering Maliboomer (which I will never go on) and Mulholland Madness (which I have never been on) must have taken the brain space.

I haven't done Disneyland alone, but I have done Disney World. It was actually really nice being able to take my time doing whatever I wanted. I found a lot of people talked to me (I'm pretty shy and didn't initiate most conversations), especially the CM's.

If he wants pictures with the characters (some adults like this, others don't), he shouldn't be afraid to ask a CM or other guest to take his picture for him. I find most people are happy to oblige.
