Not so new (lurker) newbie here going to be in Disney for the first time as an adult with DD (11) in the next 8 days. We will be staying at Pop! I've been reading and researching for over a year now and the fact that it is so close has stirred up an overwhelming bundle of emotions i.e. excitement:tiptoe:, panic:eek:, worry:worried:, excitement:tiptoe:, tears of joy:scared: all the fun stuff.

For the new first timers and Vets how do you work through it without going completely crazy?! And am I NUTS for attempting to pack our week vacation into two carry-ons?!

I think I just needed to vent as well...thanks for reading :)

I've been going to WDW for the last 16 years and once the final week of countdown hits my anxiousness and nerves start in. I think it's only natural to feel all of the things that you listed. I find the last week I have trouble focusing on work.

I worry over just keeping everyone healthy and safe until time to go-so we take extra vitamin C. My DH popped his knee about 3 weeks back and I went into panic mode-I don't want him in pain trying to hobble around WDW. He's better now thankfully, but if I could keep my family in a bubble the last week before the trip I would!

One of things I love to do is find videos on youtube of WDW- it helps pass the time and builds the excitement. Read dining reviews, stalk the Dis for updates and watch Disney movies. Check and double check your packing lists. You can buy most essentials you need there, but they are expensive and may not have the brand you like. Remember to take care of things at home also-stopping mail, pets, etc.

I have packed for a week in a carry on no problems at all, though we fly SW and I normally check a bag. Remember to save some room for souvenirs!

Take a deep breath and enjoy that happy feeling of bliss of knowing you are going to Disney World. Before you know it, you'll be there! I hope you and your DD have a magical trip pixiedust:

The packing all depends on how much extra stuff you need/want to bring and if you don't mind wearing the same outfits more than once a trip. I used to bring a different outfit for each day. Now I'm down to one outfit per two days, so half the amount of outfits. It works out just fine. You might want to bring a small back pack for your "personal item" that fits under the seat in the plane. Leave some extra space in this bag for souvenirs. I also don't bring extra pairs of shoes. I wear my tennis shoes down there and on ocassion I will pack an extra set of shoes if we are doing a "fancy" event/dinner.

Have a great trip!

I wish I could get by one one pair of shoes! I have Plantar Fasciitis so I take no less than three pair, and even then...:crutches:

Thank you for your responses. Thankfully my daughter and I swear the same size shoe so we can mix and match there so here's to me not overthinking the packing of clothes!!!
