This will be my first trip with husband and sons (5 and 4). We are tagging along on a business trip w/my husband and will only have 1 day to explore WDW. We plan to go to the Magic Kingdom and have one character breakfast (probably @ Chef Mickey's). Where do you recommend buying one day passes to the parks? Is there a budget option to purchase the character breakfast? Thanks!

thought this was cute!!!

Check out the www.mousesavers.com website, she lists places to buy discount tickets (not sure if there is a discount on 1 day tickets though). The thread at the top of the board about meal vouchers will give you information about the breakfast vouchers that you can purchase. They are good through 5/31 (Hotwire Savings Club still has them), but the rumor is that they will be discontinuing the program so I don't know how long they will still be selling them.

To the best of my knowledge one day passes are available at the gate only. I don't believe that they are sold anywhere else. Probably no discount available, although I would ask about AAA discount at the gate.............P

If you only have one day, I would reconsider using precious park time at a character breakfast outside the park. You will want to make every minute count, and morning is the best touring time at MK. This park gets busier and busier as it gets later in the day. You can do so much without significant lines the first couple hours after opening. Sit-down meals are nice for breaks, but you don't need one first thing in the morning.

It's also easy to see characters without going to a meal. If a character meal is important, do one later in the day when the park is busy and you are ready for a break -- lunch or dinner at Crystal Palace, dinner at Liberty Tree or dinner at Chef Mickey's.

If you really, really want to do Chef Mickey's breakfast, make your reservation for the earliest time available (probably 8 a.m.), so you can still get to MK around opening time. Another idea -- if the business trip puts you in WDW proximity BEFORE your MK day, do a character meal at a resort one of the other days.

We will arrive on a Sunday night and leave on Thursday afternoon. We are staying off-site (Gaylord Palms courtesy of hubby's employer). They have great facilities there for pools and such. We thought we would spend Sun evening getting familiar with the hotel, Monday do pool time, then Downtown Disney in the PM (dinner @ Rainforest Cafe), Tuesday do Magic Kingdom, Wednesday due Character Breakfast/more pool time. Looked @ the option for childcare for Wed night but can't swing $20/hr.
