Simultaneous resort reservations?

So currently we have 2 reservations with an AP discount. GF July 20-25 and YC July 25-August 1.
SAB is scheduled to be finished by July 1.

Of course it makes me a little nervous because I know things can change. Would I be able to extend my GF reservation
from July 20-August 1 and still keep my YC reservation? That when if things are on schedule I can just cancel the July 25-August 1
portion of our GF stay and keep the YC reservation. If things take longer than expected I would just cancel the YC reservation.

Let’s see what other advice people offer. I’d probably book a third reservation for GF July 25-Aug 1 with a different lead guest name. Depending how things go, you cancel one of 7/25-8/1 reservations. If that means staying put at GF, then call or chat to see if they can combine, or at least note that it is a continuing reservation with the same occupants and room category.

I currently have 3 different resort reservations for the same dates under my name. I'm eventually going to cancel one and modify one, I'm just not sure what yet. So, keep 2 with no overlapping dates, but right now, all 3 are the same dates.

I've had 2 reservations for the exact same dates while I figured out which one was the best option for my trip (evaluating a BB vs a FD package). I just made sure to cancel the one I didn't need before any cancellation penalties kicked in. I didn't keep the 2 reservations for an extended period of time, but there wasn't a problem having 2 reservations.

Quick reminder that cancellation penalties kick in 1 month before travel for packages and about a week before for room-only. The way you know if you have a package booked is the deposit; if it was a $200 deposit it was booked as a package.

There's no guarantee that you would be able to extend a reservation because a room would have to be available for your additional dates (July 25-Aug1) so I would book another GF reservation now to cover July 25-Aug 1. If the rooms are in the exact same category you can call and have the reservations merged if you decide not to stay at the YC.

I've had two reservations for the same dates in my name when I'm trying to add days to a trip and all the dates of my trip aren't available for my first choice of room type and/or resort.
