Simulator rides?

Hi all! I can't believe how quickly our trip is approaching. We're basically Universal newbies so I'm trying to research now so that closer to the trip, I won't be frantic trying to plan our itinerary! Forgive me if I ask a lot of questions in the next little while! I seem to be having difficulty figuring out which rides are simulators. Is Jimmy Neutron a simulator ride? Could someone provide a list of simulator rides? Dh will likely skip these. We both did Back to the Future in the early 90's (our last time to Universal) and it just about did dh in! I told him I'll be sure to tell him which rides are simulators so we can avoid a repeat of his last visit! ;) Thanks!

Do not judge all simulator rides based on BTTF. BTTF is a nauseating simulator that always seems to top opinions around here as needing revamping.

Jimmy is a simulator, as is Spiderman, but spiderman is consistently voted among the best if not the best ride around. Spiderman does not make you sick or knock your head into the sides of the car as BTTF does. Jimmy also does not make you ill or knock you around as BTTF. When you go, try Spiderman, and then Jimmy if he does well on Spiderman. I get very motion sick and do not have a problem with either of these rides, where BTTF makes me ill.

Oh thanks so much. Dh may have missed some of the best rides it sounds like! I'll definitely tell him what you said. Can't wait!

BTTF is a bad one but for some reason Jimmy Neutron made me feel even worse. I know that this is unusual though so I would try it. Spiderman will not make anyone sick IMO.

Please, Please, Please do not skip Spidey! My daughter is very sensitive to these kind of rides and she did great! I loved Spiderman - Great RIDE! - I hope it works out (I'm sure it will)

We went on Back to the Future for the first time since it opened, and man, it is HORRIBLE! It was so painful. I hardly paid any attention to the story, I was so busy trying not to knock my head against the car. Jimmy Neutron we missed, but do not skip Spiderman! It's much different than the usual simulators, since you're not really moving all that much (or constantly) while the stuff on the screen is going on, if that makes any sense! Absolutely my favorite ride in the Universal parks.

I have retired BTTF from my "To Do List" but I still like both Jimmy and Spidey. What helped me on Spidey was a Travel Channel program that showed the car going through the ride. While it may appear as if you are climbing and falling great distances you are actually moving only a couple of feet. If you start to feel woozie - close your eyes!

BTTF always makes me sick. My older son loves this ride and I end up on it two or three times each trip. Spiderman and Jimmy Neutron are nothing like it. Last trip, on the drive down, I took Bonine for motion sickness, we rode BTTF when we got there that night and it did not make me sick at all.

I just got back from Universal and I too have a problem with simulator rides. For example, I can do Star Tours at Disney with very little trouble, but Body Wars usually makes me dizzy.

Spiderman was nothing. It wasn't really like a simulator ride because the vehicle actually moves around. It is really more like a 3 D movie at every stop. I don't know if that makes sense unless you have ridden on it. I was able to do Spiderman 4 times in a row with no problems.

Jimmy Neutron really made me dizzy. Especially when they were flying through the cartoon area (Sponge Bob, Rugrats, etc.) I was able to walk off but I did feel dizzy during the show.

I was able to do BTTF ok but it was a little rough and made me a little dizzy.

Don't ride BTTF, especially in the back row. The car jerks, shakes, and then you get sick watching the movie. It's the type of simulator that tricks your brain into thinking you are going a direction you are not. You'll end up looking down at the floor to survive.
Jimmy Neutron does the same thing, just not as bad. I can handle Neutron, but I will never ride BTTF or those types of simulators again.
Neutron has a sitting area up front where you can watch the movie and skip the ride.
At SWF for the Polar Bear exhibit, do the walk thru.
At BGT they shut down Qwestor, gee, I wonder why?
