I've been reading about how people get motion sick on the Simpsons. Is it that bad? I always take Dramamine before I go to the parks, but some simulator rides still make me sick-especially those where you have to stand in a 360 movie...usually end up on the floor with my eyes closed. I can do Star Tours ok. Only do Mission Space on the chicken side. Didn't expect this one to make me sick :-(

Of all the simulators, Simpsons was visually the clearest for me. This eliminated a lot of motion sickness. You are sitting down, not standing so that might help. The movement is a little rough, but not as bad as Jimmy Neutron or enough to make most people sick.

I thought it was great. The best ride on the Universal Studios side in my opinion.

I came off the Simpsons ride back in 2008 and my kids said I looked physically green. I felt really sick and only just managed not to throw up ! I now know I get bad motion sickness and will be avoiding all these type of rides from now on. Glad that my kids wont be able to drag me on Jimmy Neutron as the ride closes for good the day before we go to park :thumbsup2

I rode it with Dramamine, and felt pretty gross afterwards. I had to take a little break after I rode it. I probably won't go on it ever again.

I don't get sick if I ride it in the front seat but I do if I ride it in the back seat.

Everytime I sit in the front of the car I'm fine, if I sit in the back I start feeling queezy almost immediately. Not sure why.. Neither my sister or brother felt sick from it.

I can go on any ride numerous times and be fine, including Spiderman which I thought might make me bad.

But.........The Simpsons I will never ever ride again. I don`t know how I actually got through the ride without "being ill". When I came off I was so green and thought I was going to actually pass out. A TM helped me as DH and DS had merrily wandered off ahead and hadn`t realised I was practically on the floor

Took me a good few hours to feel ok.

Great, another ride to steer clear of. Just decided to skip Harry Potter too. Guess I will really be the designated bag holder. :sad1: Everyone makes fun of me not riding rides, but there is nothing worse than getting on something and being ill the rest of the day. That's why DW is so great for me, so much to do w/o those kinds of motion rides (don't do coasters either)

My wife gets sick on most rides also, but that does not stop her from enjoying the parks. She loves just being on vacation soaking up the sights and sounds.:thumbsup2

She will do:

Universal

Jimmy Neutron's- Nicktoon Blast Once eyes closed most of the time.
Shrek 4-D- No problem.
Twister...Ride it Out-No problems
Revenge of the Mummy-She will tolerate it once, twice she is sick
Disaster!- No problems
Jaws-No problems
Men in Black- No problems
Simpsons-Good for one time with partial eyes shut.
E.T.-No problem.
Terminator- No problem

Islands of Adventure

Spiderman- She likes a lot
Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls-Good for one ride, but thats because of the last drop.
Popeye and Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges-She loves this also
Jurassic Park-This is hit of miss, I have to beg her to join due to the drop.
Caro-Seuss-el- No problem
The Cat in the Hat- No problem
The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride- No problem

That's a great list. I like her trying things once. Did that with RNR and it was a big mistake. Had my eyes closed and it was all i could do it get through it!

I get motion sick and had no problems with the rides I rode on. Closed my eyes during part of the Simpsons but rode it anyway. See if you can get a scopalimine patch to wear. Giives you one hell of a dry mouth but won't make you sleepy like dramamine. I did not ride Hulk, fear fall, Rip Ride rocket or Dueling dragons but that is the only ones I didn't ride.

I actually got more sick when it was Back to the Future (RIP) than Simpsons. FJ made me a little off, but that's because I had nothing to eat prior.

She tried the Hulk back in 1999 when the park first opened and she did not do well. She spent the next hour sitting in Cafe 4 sipping water while snapped photos of her.:lmao:

After that I have tried to get her on Dueling Dragons and she refuses. My son is now tall enough for the big rides and he keeps asking her also, same answer.:scared1:

I know how she feels and if she feels like I do, she is perfectly happy to sit and watch you all ride.
