Simpsons Ride at Universal?

Does anyone know if the Simpsons Ride is open yet at Universal Hollywood? If so, what's it like? (format, seating, etc.) We'll be there this
Saturday (03/15/08). DH and DS are big fans of Simpsons!

I thought it was the same style as the back to the future ride. I don't think it is slated to be opened until April/May

Yeah I was just there this Wednesday and they are still painting and doing finish construction work to the building.It is in the same spot as Back to the Future was..looks no where near completed yet!

I'm guessing this is gonna be a motion simulator type of ride like back to the future then. they probably just redone all the old back to the future cars and made them into something different.

That is exactly what I thought too about using the old cars. I heard its going to be a motion simulator just like the old back to the future ride. I wouldnt be surprised if they just left the cars as is and rebuilt around it.

I heard it was going to be more like the Spider-man ride in USIoA, a combination of the motion and movement ride with 3-D effects...does anyone have a link to the press statements or anything?

That's the day before I leave to come back to Vegas, and we're going to Universal during the week because I have tickets to the Dodgers game on the 21st of May. Guess it's gonna have to wait till next time, but next time I go to Universal it's gonna be in March but it's gonna be in Florida, and if I'm not mistaking they are building a Simpsons ride there too.

Yes, they are. We saw the construction during our trip last December.

Really bummed out that we are going to miss it! We are really only going to Universal this trip because we have the SoCal pass, so we might as well. We might not go back.

we will get to see it on our june trip. someone tell me about this house of horrors. my dh and 7y dd cannot wait to go in it but i keep telling them i will meet them when they get out. i don't like when you have to walk thru and people are jumping out at you. i can't wait to go to universal. we go to the one in florida every wdw trip.

We were just at Universal on Easter Sunday and The Simpson Ride had scaffolding ALL AROUND it!!

The Simpson Souvenir Shoppe is open for business, of course!!

Don't know much about the ride, but I was at Universal Sat. night for MG. When we walked by the Simpsons you could see A LOT more of the actual ride enviorment. Krusty the Klown's head is huge and right in front, with his eyes spinning in opposite directions. Kind of reminded me of a carnival esk atmosphere. Pretty excited about this one!
