Simple Thing a Cast Member Did...

We were watching MMY and wishes from the tomorrow land bridge. there is a little alcove by the rose garden I think, where there is a photopass spot. I was standing close to the photopass photographer trying to take pics. DS 7 was there with me. Every time he found a good spot, someone would stand in front of him.

The photopass photographer invited him to sit on the ground in front of her camera. A few other kids followed, she wasn't too pleased because she told me she had wanted to do this just for DS. Whenever one of the other kids would crowd him or get in front of him, she would have them move. Very sweet the way she looked after him.

I'm at work and like a lot of people (only on the first couple of pages), I'm tearing up!

I wanted to share my story real quick :)

Last year at the end of July, my DH, myself & and a friend (Amanda) went to WDW for a few reasons but one of the reasons was because it was DH and Is 3rd anniversary, so we wore the buttons everywhere.
On our last day we were in AK and went into Pizzafari for breakfast. After ordering, they showed us around the different rooms in the restaurant and explained the various themes and some hidden touches. In the last room, there was a table set up for us with our food on it! Real dishes and silverware (we were on the QS dining plan, everything is in plastic) and Kermit was holding a reservation sign. We were so surprised!
The CMs said it was because of our anniversary, they even came out with a phone that had Mickey and Minnie on it wishing us Happy Anniversary. As if that wasn't enough, they also presented us with a certificate of our anniversary and gave us 2 cupcakes!

It was amazing! I don't know if they just do this for the first customers of the day or if it was truly for our anniversary. Either, way, we are so grateful and I don't think it will be anything we'll forget anytime soon :flower3:

You know this is a very simple one but I just love those high fives CMs often give when welcoming you to the park or saying good bye (or high fours - ehem Mickey paw - I should say).

I have one more from last year. My dd got made over at Pirates League. We went on the Jungle Cruise a little later. We were the first ones on the boat and the skipper made a big deal of having a pirate on the boat, made her promise not to try to take over the boat, etc. As we went through the tunnel, she had her take over driving, saying it was really scary but since DD was a pirate she should have no problem.

Since my dd's favorite ride is JC this was just perfect for her.

I could go on and on with special stories but here are my two contributions:

In 2010 we had dinner at Olivia's at OKW. They had chicken noodle soup on the kids menu and my daughter (who does not usually like chicken noodle soup) got it with her meal. She LOVED it! Well we ate at The Grand Floridian Cafe the following night and she asked the server if they had chicken noodle soup and he said no they did not. She made a sad face but ordered her meal and we moved on. Well a few minutes later here he comes with the chicken noodle soup. He would not tell us how or where he got it but my DD11 face lit up and it made her night!

At 1900 Park Fair princess dinner my son who is not special needs but has some food issues would not eat anything on the buffet except PBJ. I asked at the front counter where you check in if they have chicken nuggets and fries on the buffet and she told me no but ask your server and they will get them for you. Well when we sat down at our table and the server took our drink order another server brought chicken nuggets and fries and set them on our table. So apparently the woman at the check in counter told somone who made sure that his food was there when we sat down. It was great.

This was not a CM but a few years ago my daughter went to the BBB was dressed up like tinker bell. There was a family with two daughters that were around maybe 11 and 12. (My daughter was 8) They stopped her in front of IASM and made a big deal and asked her for her autograph in their autograph books. They gave her their pens and she signed their books and they called her Tink the whole time. They even asked her questions about neverland and peter pan. It was priceless!!!!

Reading threads like this are what make me sooooooooooooooo darn excited to be there with my family!!! I don't care about the big extravagant happenings - we may remember them, but not in the same way, kwim? I hope we, too, can spread some magic while we're there!

Couldn't have said it better!!

My family loves the Tower of Terror. Last April, we had ridden it, exited, and went straight back into a very fast moving line three times in a row. Our daughter decided to go to Rock n Roll Roller Coaster, so it was just my DH and me. One of the CMs who loads you onto the elevator asked us where our daughter was and we told her, so my DH says "why don't you come ride with us?" And she did! When we got off, she directed us to a side elevator that took us right back up to the loading area again and we got right on another ride elevator without having to walk all the way around to the beginning and go through the pre show again. We felt very special! :goodvibes

You guys probably made her day!

Here's another.. wasn't pixie dust for me, but for the guest in front of me.. DD and I were in line "first" to meet Snow White in Germany, following her short break. While she was on break, a woman with a special needs child came up and got in line behind us. We were all chatting with the cast member, and she pulled the mom aside for a min. When they returned, the cast member asked if I minded if they got in front of me. Of course it wasn't an issue..but man do I wish I would have just left the line and come back later. It turns out that the girl was very seriously ill, this was her make a wish trip, and all the little girl wanted to do was meet snow white. When Snow White returned from her break, the CM quickly approached her, whispered in her ear..and then the magic.. Snow White started twirling around in her skirt saying she had just heard about her friend coming to visit her, and called the girl by name. The little girls eyes lit up..Snow white took the wheel chair and started walking around the area with her, took her to the "wishing well" to make a wish, and the little girl was just smiling from ear to ear. I was now sobbing at this point. Not sniffling..full fledge sobbing.. I had to turn away to the back of the line, and there was not a dry eye to be found. DD kept asking why everyone was crying, and I couldn't even get the words out of my mouth.

When people ask me why I go back to Disney so often, I can't help but say "why wouldn't I".:cloud9:

OK, I'm bawling now! These stories are just so heartwarming!

Not a cm, but when dd met chip and dale they were soooo in love with her. She thought it was the funniest thing. They kept hugging and kissing her. She went when she was 2 and at almost 5 she still talks about it. It was the sweetest thing.

Last July we were on a grand gathering trip and my DD was 15 months old at the time, we were waiting in line for tiana and prince navene when she tripped over the wheel to her stroller busting her lip open, one of my "little sisters" was with me and my first instinct was to rush DD to first aid, my "little sister" was going to stay back and try and get their autographs for us it was parade time so I knew even if I made it to first aid and everything was fine I wouldn't make it back to have DD meet tiana, well about 2 min into being the first aid station my "little sister" walked in, the nurse at first aid gave her two coupons, one for a Popsicle and one for a new shirt for DD, that was more than enough pixie dust for me but as we were walking out of first aid tiana and prince navene were walking in .. They came to meet DD! I will forever remember this, I couldn't thank them enough. This is why at 23 I will always have a special place in my heart and life for Disney, it really is the place that dreams come true, thanks to awesome CMs :)

We had some very Magical Moments on our trip to Disney World last week. It made the trip extra special and memories that we will not forget!

:wizard:

On our first day my sister got the makeover at BBB. Her fairygodmother in training was amazing. She is 12 so a bit older than the typcial princess but this was still important to her. Her FGM gave her trivia while she was doing the makeover as well. My sister also has medical issues with her lungs similar to CF and her FGM had a connection to this that truly overwhelmed us and brought tears to all our eyes.

Second, my dad and I got to participate in the Backlot Tour Preshow, it was awesome and so much fun.

Thirdly, both my brother and sister were picked out of the crowd in Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor and had their faces on the big screen.

Lastly, my sister is a problem eater - partly due to her medical issues. We went to Akershus and she did not like anything on the menu (even the appetizers before). She was pretty overwhelmed and started to tear up - at that moment Snow White came over. She asked my sister if she was alright. My sister just nodded but Snow White could tell. She then took my sister by the hand and brought her away from the table and gave her a little pep talk. She said sometimes she didnt like certain food, especially Ariel's lol. It was so sweet of her and really made my sister feel better - she also encouraged her to just eat the dessert if she wanted ;)

Couldnt believe all the magical moments we got to experience and have loved reading others as well!

DH And I have been 5 times in our 11 year marriage and we can't wait to take our DDs for the first time in 12 days!! The pixie dust that stands out in my mind the most was on our anniversary trip 4 years ago. I was so excited to wear my anniv pin but DH was not keen on it. I guess he felt too macho :). I was pretty bummed about it but let it go. Our first afternoon we were at WOD looking for a present for DD to take back home when an older CM noticed my button and then asked DH where his was. DH was a little embarrassed and kind of stammered around. The CM gave my DH a quiet little pep talk (that I couldn't really hear) and then told him that he should be proud of our marriage. I kind of got tears in my eyes and DH realized how much that meant to me. He also realized that it's never weird at Disney! He wore it proudly the rest of the trip. We talked to this cm a little longer...he had been married over 40 years. He really made the trip for us on our first day!! Plus DH was thrilled with the five free desserts we got from wearing our pins!! :)

a nice lady CM gave my boys some mickey bandanas. the boys really enjoyed that.

Late night at DTD, we went to the bus stop. There was a CM directing people to the stops. He had some small plastic pirate swords in his belt. Every once in awhile he would give an unsuspecting little boy a sword and bandanna. pirate: We just enjoyed seeing other people receive some pixie dust. :)

Then he starts blowing bubbles with one of those teeny tiny favor bubble bottles. "This is ridiculous," he says. "How do they expect me to blow bubbles with this?" I joked that he needed to talk to his union, because the people at the parks had nice big bubble wands. Next thing you know, he hands the bottle to dd12 and pulls out another one for ds7. :goodvibes He totally set me up!:rotfl:

Oh one other really cool thing happened at the bus stop! It had been raining off and on so the bus windows were, you know, you could draw on them. So as a bus is loading, there is a CM drawing a Mickey face on the window!:earsboy: Very cool.

Both of these were from several years ago, but they always stick out to me (and both deal with my curiosity regarding a pin/button).

1. My husband and I were waiting in a lobby for something (can't remember what) when a CM started chatting with us. I noticed she had a Robin Hood pin on and I asked her where she got it (Robin Hood is my FAVORITE). She said it was a CM pin not sold in the shops. She was called off somewhere, but came back a few minutes later and gave me the pin. I was beyond thrilled.

2. I was marching in the Star Wars Weekends parade as a Stormtrooper. While waiting backstage to go out, we had a few security guards with us. A couple friends of mine and I were talking to one who had been with Disney for about 15 or 20 years. One of my friends asked him about the pins he was wearing (such as his service pin). I asked about a Partners in Excellence button he had on since I had never seen one like it before and he explained it was given to CMs who had previously received the Partners in Excellence award to remind them to submit nominations for that year's awards or something. It wasn't some gorgeous, stylish button...but I loved it and the story behind it. After I came back from marching in the parade, my friends and I thanked that particular guard for watching our tubs for us (where we keep our armor). He was no longer wearing the button. I opened my tub to start taking off my armor and put it away...inside, wrapped with a note that thanked me for my friendliness and kindness, was the Partners in Excellence button. It is one of my most cherished Disney items.

2 years ago my family got picked to be the grand Marshall's in the celebrate a dream come true parade in the magic kingdom! If that wasn't magical enough we all got free Mickey ears and had our own photo shoot before the parade and had our own interactive time with the characters in the parade! It was truly magical:) also when we got to the end of the parade they let us off and we had reserved seating to see the whole parade and there were CMs there with water bottles for us! Each character gave us special attention when they went by on their float and we had people come up to us the rest of day who remembered us in the parade! It was the most magical day ever :)

I read the WHOLE thread in 2 days (most of it yesterday) since it's slow at work for this holiday weekend.

I was crying and tearing up, I love this thread. Makes me regret not wearing our Just Married buttons on our Honeymoon to the World :(
BUT we wore our anniversary ones around ALL THE TIME!

Keep the stories coming :)

One of our most favorite memories was during our stay at POFQ this past January. We arrived to a spotless room kept wonderfully clean by our Mousekeeper, Maria. Each day after returning from our time in the parks, Maria would have a "character scene" set up for us to see. One time it was the stuffies hanging out in a hammock. Another were the stuffies tubing down the rapids made on a bed. We decided to surprise her and set up the stuffies around the table playing a game of cards. We had run into her one morning and she mentioned that she loved getting her own surprise! :)

My 19 yr old DS had a wonderful time playing Buzz Lightyear. He loves all kinds of video games and is quite competitive. Imagine our surprise (insert sarcasm) when he managed to get the rank of Galactic Hero. When we went to purchase the picture, he was given a special Galactic Hero button. My "big boy" turned into a very excitable little boy in a blink of an eye. When we exited the store we popped over to the character line and he got to show Buzz his proud achievement. Quite a fun time. (most unfortunately the button was lost on the way home :( )

A few years ago we met a CM who was interested in our autograph books. (I make them with pictures from the previous year - a disney growth chart - and we asked her if Jack Sparrow would be out for the halloween party that night. She said to find her at a certain place. We did, and she took our books and got every single signature we needed while we went to dinner. We meet up with her every year and have lunch.
