Hi all --

Dh and I are hoping to renew our vows during our 10th anniversary trip in September. I don't even know where to start - this is just something that came up in the last few days. I'm hoping the experts can give me some direction!

We already had a wedding 10 years ago, and it was beautiful and perfect and magical. pixiedust: I'm not trying to recreate it; we just want a simple ceremony for the two of us and our two daughters that will reaffirm our committment. Our dream would be to have someone come officiate a short vow renewal in our room, or on a balcony or poolside or something. (But I know it's not permitted to have your own private non-Disney ceremony on Disney grounds.) I don't need or want all the extras that a Disney FTW ceremony offers, nor can I afford it. But we were planning on spending our whole trip on-site. I hate to rent a car to go somewhere off-site just for a brief ceremony. Are there places nearby where a ceremony can be held on the cheap? Should I consider renting a limo for the afternoon? Can I plan all this myself?

If anyone has done something similar, please let me know. I'd really like to do this for us, but I don't know how much of a headache it's going to be. If it ends up being terribly expensive or hassling, we will just wait and renew our vows at home with our own pastor and a few family members and friends, even if it's not on our actual anniversary. Thanks so much!

Here is a website for the gardens a few ladies on here have had their weddings and vow renewal. The small gardens rent for about $175, and maybe you could just get a towncar to cut down on costs. I think this way it might be easier to have an officiant come and perform the ceremony, as opposed to having an in-room ceremony.

Congratulations on 10 years, and two girls! :goodvibes

Many have also booked a wedding/renewal through the Swan/Dolphin. I believe they use www.justmarry.com . Maybe someone could give you more information on that--I know everyone has said how much more economical it is.

have a simple garden VR to save money for a second honeymoon with the kids in disney.

swan/dolphin wedding starts at $2200ish (10% off coupon availble) , however it is cheaper and far less restricted compared to DFTW.
