Simple banking question

If I have 60 points left right now for my 2010 UY, could I bank some of them now to make a 2011 reservation, and then bank the rest later if I have some left?

You don't mention when your UY begins... that would make it easier to help you

You can bank some or all of any bankable points at any time during the first eight months of your UY. You can also bank as many times as you like as long as you have bankable points.

If you aren't going to need them for 2010, just bank them all now. Nothing worse than forgetting to bank again later and trying to figure out what to do with your un-banked points.

OK, that answers my question. Our UY is April. I want to bank some now, as we are going to make a 2011 Reservation soon, but I may need some of them for 2010. If I don't, then I wanted to be able to bank the rest of them (by Nov 30).

Why not just use your 2011 points?

We won't quite have enough 2011 points to cover the entire trip.

That is what I did. I had 156 to bank. I used 48 points to secure a reservation for this year. Then I waited a couple of months to make sure we wouldn't take a quick trip and have now banked the rest.

Aha. That makes more sense. Yeah, if you are going to make that reservation soon, might as well! You can bank online, by the way. Very convenient (as long as the system isn't being floopy).

OK, you sound like me. I'm also a UY April. I wanted to make my May 2011 reservations, so I banked my BWV 2010 points to keep recording keeping straight. I would not borrow my 2011 points as I banked ALL of my 2010 points. I made my May reservation last week with no problem. Since I'm not done making my 2010 reservations (Jan 2011), I did NOT bank my SSR or my BLT points so I can use them. Once I'm done making my January 2011 reservation this week, I probably still won't bank them until I have to (Nov 2011) because I never know if I might decide to add a day or make a quick trip down. So yes, you can bank some of your points and not all of them. I do my banking online.

You could always bank all of your 2010 points and if you need some for a ressie later this UY, you could borrow from your 2011 points. That would make it easier because your 2011 ressie would not need to be tweaked to use banked points first if you end up banking more than you originally need.
