I am also in the same predicament. My husband worked extra all year so we could take our first vacation in 5 years and I've been trying to deal with Dean. I also did a Google search and found this thread and now i'm even more nervous. We are supposed to be staying in a home in murells inslet the 7th to 14th. Please let me know anything you both find out.:S

what place are you suppose to be staying, what's the name? How did you go about paying....and how are you suppose to be getting in to your place. Very interesting. What dean told us is that he's extremely busy. The do run a linen business that looks legit..and something else i can't remember. So maybe this is true. I'm just afraid we won't have a place to stay! We don't even have to meet up with him which immediatley put up a red flag for us. I mean what if we trashed the place how would he charge us? i know he's young maybe he just doesn't know what hes doing. See originally i wasn't dealing with dean...i dealt with T Darin Epps...and he's in a huge mortgage fraud deal...looking at a million dollar fine and lots of years in jail...so then i started working with dean. This all came to light just a few days ago...been freaking out since!

Originally we responded to an ad on craigslist that pit us in touch with Dean. We made two payments by check; first for deposit and then remainder. It is supposed to be a private home on rainbow drive in murells inslet that we have a lockbox code for. I tried sending Dean an email recently and have had no response which led me here. I am also very scared now and unsure what to do. I don't want to drive down there just to find out this is all some scheme.

I am so sorry for all of you guys, it sounds so stressful. I hope to works out for all of you and you get to have wonderful vacations. This guy seems like a scammer. Good Luck!

I hate to be a killjoy but a friend of my sisters rented a "nice" $3000 week beach house at Myrtle Beach off of Craiglist and when they showed up it was a dump and unliveable in so I hope for for the best for you all. A side note she is a real estate agent so it can happend to anyone.....

i'm not real worried about my place being a dump...the villas were staying in are quite nice...now who knows we could open it up and theres no furniture or could be dirty...but i know from looking at the building connected to ours owned by a big realty company. I'm worried about them not owning it at all or renting something that's not theirs. That's our worry. Has anyone on here actually called Dean and spoken to him? I called him monday and tuesday and my husband spoke to him wednesday. The last email i got from him was on wednesday and he doesn't respond to mine either. So who knows what the deal is with this guy. I do know like i said the other guy is in serious trouble for mortgage fraud so i would think this guy wouldn't be scamming with this other stuff going on!

hoping it's just bad business and not a scam...good luck to you! Keep us updated. I've also not had emails responded but i did talk to him on wednesday and he assured us everything was ok.

sorry- I had to recharge my phone. the place is good. our only problem was the cleaning crew took an extra 2 hours due to the mess left behind by the people before us. let me know how you guys make out. good luck

fyi- even though linens were included there are not anywhere near enough towels,washcloths,etc.. so you may want to pack them
