Simon visa users...help me out

Okay. So, I took the plunge. I got the visa account. Now, I want to understand how this all works.

I've done a couple of the "free" sign ups. They have taken money out of the account....or is it just a "hold"??? And, how do I know the difference?

This is really bothering me because I'm generally a pretty smart cookie, but I can't get this figured out.

How long is this money tied up? What the heck!! The blockbuster one has two different "charges" on my account...one for 9.99 and one for 10.75.

Did I do something wrong here....because I thought I was smart enough to do it right

Any help from those who are experienced with all of this for a mom who apparently hasn't had enough sleep lately (thanks to cash duck ) would be appreciated.

any pending charges take about 5 days to clear, if they are the free trials then they will drop off. The BB $9.99 will drop off and the $10.74 is your charge.

It can be tricky to figure out what charges are real and what are pending. I have found that most offers are very specific about what they will be actually be charging you on your credit card..(ie shpping/handling). I always carefully read the "Terms and Conditions" of any cc offer. Those charges will stay.
The other charges that don't go away are the ones that say "$1.00" or "$1.85" charge for a the trial. Those also will stay.
I have found some of the offers will charge the Simon Visa 1,2 or even 3 times. It is their way, I'm sure, to ensure that you are using a valid card. That has happened to me numerous times and they have always dropped off between 5-7 days.
For the Blockbuster, you will be charged for the free trial month. I believe it is the $10.74 (9.99 with tax) and that is a real charge.

I have had nothing but great luck with my Simon card. As a matter of fact, maybe too much good luck? I have earned $400+ from CD and RHC in the last 9 days. Almost every offer charged what was disclosed to me (all less then $5) and yet each day when I sign in to see the balance of my Simon card, another transaction has reversed itself! So the balance on the card keeps increasing! Most offers that the charged has been reversed have not been cancelled by me, so I'm not sure why they charged $1 initially and then reversed it. The only offer I had problems with was Today's Escape, it said it rejected my Simon credit card, but yet it charged me $1. I called them to inquire what was going on and they can't find any record of my membership nor can they explain why I was charged $1...and it isn't worth pursuing.
