Silverlake to universal?

We won a trip to SilverLake resort the third week of July. We are planning on visiting Universal three days. How long will it take to drive to the parks from the resort? Anyone know?

i was just on trip advisor reading about this resort.


from what i could gather from the reviews, this resort is very near disney's animal kingdom.


depending on what time of day you leave this resort for the darkside could be 30 minute travel time.

ah man... I was hoping it was closer. Since we are going during the busy season I knew we needed to be at the parks early. Well so much for leisure mornings I guess!

Google lists time at 20 minutes, so in morning traffic it will be much more like 30 just like macraven said.

We actually stayed at Silver Lake Resort on our first two trips to Orlando, and really liked it. If you take Sherbeth Rd., which is right next to the SLR, you can take that back road all the way in to WDW without hitting any traffic lights until the one right outside AKL.

I guess you could take back roads all the way to UO instead of I-4, but it would probably take longer. The SLR is on the opposite side of WDW from UO.
