I am not going to get anything done today:surfweb: I can't refresh my page fast enough. Thanks to all the gold and platinums for 1. posting their info so fast and 2. Driving up the price of the cruises:sad: No--really, I'm living through you guys--until tomorrow:lmao:

This is torturous........ I hate being a silver!!!!! :scared1: Thats it!! I'm gonna go on some more cruises so i wont be a silver anymore. :cool1:

Right there with you, this is slow death! Maybe they could give us half a day head start on the general public? Next time?

I will be patient...I will be patient...I will be patient...
:rolleyes1

Sigh..what stinks about silver, is we are treated like the general public. It also stinks that I have had 25 nights on DCL, but am still just silver because it was only on 3 cruises. If I had done five 3 night cruises I would have had 15 nights and been gold :confused3.

That is why we are trying to grab a 2 night cruise close to home. One step closer to Gold and those 160 minute wait times. :thumbsup2

We're platinum and I'm not booking...so I'm doing my part to not hog everything!

Hawaii was so tempting, but if I'm going to take 15 days for a Hawaiian vacation, I sure want to spend more than four or five of those days actually there, especially for the prices DCL is charging. Not interested in NY or Galveston itineraries, and already done Alaska on Norwegian. Happy with our Eastern Caribbean cruise on Magic in February, which is only costing us around $2300 in a 5C.

Good luck to the silvers who have to wait to book...remember there will be TONS of speculative bookings, just like there were for the Med cruises, that ended up being cancelled in droves. A "sold out" cruise will quickly open up again once those big payments have to start coming in or people really think hard about the cost versus what you are getting and decide to stick with it or not.

After reading some of the prices out of NY, yikes! I'm proud of our Dream Nov 20th cruise in cat 6 for 2A and 1C for 1500. We got a big verandah, too. Seems like that wont get you much, now. Ouch.

We are Silver too and I'm not in agreement it stinks - you just have to avoid being part of the "it's-new-so-I-have-to-book-it-right-now-whether-or-not-it-really-is-any-good" herd.

When I booked our upcoming Med cruise back in February, there were still plenty of great cabins left. When I checked in recently at 90 days the first embarkation port arrival times were still available as well as all the choice Palo seatings and excursions. That's because I wasn't competing with masses of fanatical, higher level CC people; while they had-had-had-had to be on these sailings back when they first started years ago, most have since moved on (apparently to New York and Texas). I also have the benefit of being able to read and learn from the Med trip reports those pioneers wrote :thumbsup2 and consequently will be going onto our sailing much better armed than almost of them were.

Bottom line: think tortise vs. hare. Doing a brand new cruise itinerary during the inagural phase isn't everything it's cracked up to be. Prices are almost always higher, the kinks haven't been worked out and again there is the "me first" frenzy you are facing, which yes sucks up all the good cabins and meal/activity reservations long before most people can get to them.

I've had 31 nights on DCL and I'm still a silver!!!!

I'm not really in to the herd mentality--I'm just concerned about the limitted cruises sailing out of Galveston. I've waited a loooooooong time for Disney to come to Texas. If they don't do well--they won't be back...Supply and Demand. The Med cruises are no longer in great demand--therefore not currently being offered for 2012. If Disney is smart--they won't over saturate ANY market. If they come year after year--demand is gonna drop--and the price they're gonna be able to charge will have to drop too. If they only come every once in a while--people will pay more. :thumbsup2

I may book a dummy Alaska in the hope I can convince my fiancé to go in the next year and a half - does online booking for silver open tomorrow?

Silver and general public open tomorrow. Not sure if the website will be ready by then, or if we'll have to do it over the phone. Hope that helps!:thumbsup2

The remainder do open tomorrow and you are supposed to be able to do them online.

Good luck everyone!

2 day cruise prices are insane. A Cat T for 2A/2C is $3900. For 1 sea day!!! :scared1:

The sick thing is with the NYC people, it will probably sell out.

Totally agree about silver. I haven't done as many days as others that still are only silver, but my cruises were all suites, Cat R and Cat T and none of that is taken into account. It's kind of sad to have no booking privileges over GP after that. :sad2:

What time do the phone lines open tomorrow? Is web 12:01am tonite?
