I read about Silver Springs in Brits guide and see from Simons Update that he still rates it highly. Has anyone been and could they tell me a bit more about:

a) getting there - first visit to Florida so need easy driving!
b) what there is to do there
c) what sort of time do you need to spend there to get the most out of it without rushing?

Cheers

I really enjoyed Silver Springs - it's a really nice park to visit if you have the time and it makes a nice change from the hustle and bustle of the Orlando parks. The glass bottom boats are the main attraction - you can check out www.silversprings.com . You will only need a day to it all and that's without hurrying too much.

Can't tell you how to get there from Orlando, I'm afraid - my aunt drove us there from Sarasota!

Hi

My husband and I went in 1998. We found it boring. The drive was long and not worth it at all. The glass bottom boats are nice and pretty to see, but to be honest it really is not worth the long drive. It is like a local Zoo with spring water and boats.

I would think hard before going there, especially if this is your first time. There are much better parks to see and do. Its up to you and I am sure you will enjoy yourself in whatever you decide.
