We are going in May and have got a quote for the Silver Plan Add-On. Is it worth it? We are not sure. @ adults and 1 child age 6

You'll find a tread in the Resort forum which discussed this. It's one or two pages back now. Subject was Dreammaker package w/add on.

There's pros and cons. For me, I'm going to try it this year. It's only my daughter and I so much less expensive than most families and I think we can get our moneys worth out of it.

in my opinion, never having used a package, the silver add on looks like a good deal. BUT, that's only if you decide the basic dream maker package is good for you. We've found that booking things separately is better for us. :)

I booked the silver plan so that we wouldn't always have to be together at mealtimes. We are taking son and daughter-in-law, who don't have any children, and daughter and son-in-law who have DD 10, DS 7 and DD (she'll be 20 months); we will be helping with the kids so we'll be at a slower pace. Hopefully, we'll have several dinners together, but this way I know they will have "lunch money" (overprotective mom here).

Just last night we took time to sit with a calculator and compare. The silver plan seemed to be outrageously expensive, although some attractive perks were quoted to us by CRO. Some included priority seatings during parades and fireworks and flex features in addition to all the benefits of the base plan.

But HECK! booking and selecting things on our own still saves us well over $2000! We eat so much during breakfast that often all we need the rest of the day is light stuff to go around. So I do not believe we can handle two buffets a day. The priority seatings sounded attractive but for what you pay for them you'd better off track down the best viewing spots and arrive a little early.

So, take time to analyze both. Could you save more with AP discounts? What type of resort are you most interested in staying at? Could a code give you a better value? Could you really eat as much food as you'd get with the add-ons and if you could, is it truly the most economical alternative to buy it through the add-ons? Are you interested in the alternatives to meals? Do the tours and activities sound appealing? Can you afford to pay off the package three weeks before you arrive as opposed to at check in time?

Although many people feel safer letting someone else put together the components of a package, you can do the same work yourself spending a little time. Just consider all your options and go with what makes you feel most comfortable.

I too spent several hours last night checking the figures. Originally we were going to just go for the gusto and get the gold package. Then I really started thinking, there is no way we are going to eat 3 big meals a day. We will also only be there 7 days this time, and there is no way we will have time to do all the tours and recreational options.
I review the Silver Package. All in all, we think we are going to break even. A nice sit-down dinner w/ tip for our family of 3 is around $100.00 and we don't get an appetizer (which is included w/ the meal wish). There are so many nice resturants we want to try, but if we pay out of pocket, we won't do it. If it's included we will do it. I think in the end we should break even, or at least come close. I am hoping too anyhow.
