The boyfriend and I will be going to Disney in September with the Silver package and I was checking out the "choice features" that we have to choose from:

* One round of miniature golf at Disney's Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course or Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course

* A specially designed Disney character poster (one per room)

* Up to two images displayed on one Leave a Legacy tile at Epcot

* $25 total per room of dining at Planet Hollywood at Downtown Disney (time restrictions apply; merchandise and alcoholic beverages not included)

Has anyone done the Leave a Legacy Tile at Epcot? I think it's a really cool idea... I'd love to bring my kids back one day and show them the tile... "Look kids, that was mommy when she was young and less stressed!" ;)

But then, I think I've heard that the tiles aren't great quality... Should I do the mini-golf or Planet Hollywood dining instead?

Thanks for your opinions!!

We did a Legacy tile last year, I've never heard they are bad quality??? (I hope not!) We haven't seen ours finished yet, they just had the "template" for us to see before we left. Anyway, I'd choose the tile if I were you, it lasts longer. And as you said, how cool to show it to your future children!!!!!! We're planning to get another tile (or two or three!!) next year if they're still doing it. :):):)

Call me a naysayer, a pessimist, or a realist, but unless your sure the boyfriend is going to become the husband, I wouldn't do the tile. But that's just me. Money wise that is the most expensive item so you'd get your money's worth there.

B'rer Karen -

Those were exactly the 2 same rational thoughts that I had about it! It is the best value for the money, but then again, what if the boyfriend becomes the ex-boyfriend?

But then, I don't think I'll let that deter me... I mean, because if I thought about it that way, then why would I bother taking any pictures of us while we're on the trip?

So I think we'll get the tile done... and if the boyfriend doesn't end up becoming the husband, then maybe I can have the pleasure of "defacing" him in the future. ;)

Or maybe, just to be "safe" I can convince him that he doesn't want to be in the tile and I can have one done with just me. :) (I can be a bit of a princess anyways... this might happen...)

My bf and I used our choice feature for a leave a legacy tile last March. It was great and I would highly reccommend it. The quality is good...it looks more like an etching than a pic. They'll send you the negatives of the pic a few weeks after. We are actually planning on doing it again this trip. It will neat to see how we've changed.
BTW, if you dbf ends up being you dh...then you can show the kids what mom and dad looked like when they were young and carefree.....lol

I did this with my 1 year old on our last trip and I can't wait to go back and see it when we go in Oct. It was her first trip to WDW, so it will be fun to check it on future trips.

The subjects do get considerably smaller when there are 2 instead of 1, so maybe you can request that just you are in the picture if you're worried about the boyfriend situation.

;)

Myself & my then 5 yr old nephew got our tile in '99. Whenever we go to WDW we check it out, "clean it up". I hope in MANY MANY MANY more years he will stop by & check it out (with all the memories included) with his children.
It is a nice thing to do.

I wound up getting the poster on my plan. Was going to use it on Planet Hollywood, but it's only good till 5:00pm.

The value for each of those is $25. So basically its a $25 coupon to be used at any of those places you listed. I'm not much for planet hollywood so we did the tile. Whatever floats your boat though. If you'll be at DTD, then use it for PH.

I had that first reaction too about your bf not becoming your dh in the future.. but ya know what, there is life and happy times prior to a marriage and it will reflect that time of in your life. Someday if you have kids, they'll see that mom (or Dad) had a life before being with their spouses. If we all didn't do things because of what might happen in the future..we all wouldn't do anything!!! I had my family's picture done and on a tile and we've since divorced. But it was a wonderful trip and I have great memories when I'm reminded of that time.

Disunc I was just curious about the poster is it pretty good quality... I am doing the silver plan and have been considering the poster but not sure it is worth choosing?

thanks

Just returned two weeks ago and we did this for our twin DD's. The template was received in the mail yesterday. We'll be searching for the tile on our next trip in June/July '05.
