Hi, we are staying here in May. My question is, what are the buildings that I should request? I know some of them are newer and others are not refurbished. Thanks in advance!
I think it depends on what kind of unit you have. If it is Silver Lakes or Silver Lake -Silverpoints . If it is a 2 bedrooom that sleeps 8, it is in the older section. I do say older section, but still very nice. The resort is small so everything is very close. I don't think you will be disappointed. The only building that I would request NOT having is I think 400 as it is against Sherberth Road and I would imagine it is quite loud with all the traffic. We stayed in building 700 and had no coplaints at all. Perfect. Close to the pool and quiet location
The 2 bedrooms that sleep 6 are in the newer section and overlook the main pool. NOt a bad location among them
We stayed there last year. We were in the older building which was a two bedroom. That slept only 6. I had two doubles and one king. We didn't go in the newer buildings but did see them.
I have stayed many places and these older rooms were only ok. They had mirrors lining the living room. Most of the furniture was wicker. There was not enough drawer space in the 2 bed room. We had given our DB and SIL the master so we had our family of 4 in the smaller room which definitely was too small for us. It would have been fine for our two kids.
The newer building are enclosed nicely like a hotel. We were using Timeshare points, so we didn't have a choice.
The one nice part was it is literally next to the Animal Kingdom resort when you go out the back way.
We ayed at Bonnet Creek the year before, so I was kinda spoiled. Regardless, we just look at it as a place to sleep. There is a Target and Publix down the road.
Word of caution, our GPS had a very hard time finding it. We should have tried to go to AK Lodge and then turned to the left off that road instead of the way they went!
IIRC, Silver Lake Points are the newer buildings (Orange) and Silver Lake the older buildings (Red).
We stayed in Bldg 1200 and it was fine. We had a 3-bdrm which was actually a 2-bdrm and a 1 bdrm that shared a main entry. This worked out great as the teens had a great time in their "private" apartment.
I believe this is still classified as a sleeps 8 as there is a pull out sofa sleeper. The sleeps 6 in the newer section has a king in one room and either 2 twin or a double in the second bedroom..plus the sofa sleeper.
