We are due in this week and have been told we are in either the 100 or 700 bldg. The location looks close to the pool and clubhouse, does anyone have any opinions of these 2 buildings?

Sorry for a new thread, the search is not working.

I would consider these good locations. The worst building is building 400 which backs up to Sherberth Rd. Buildings 100 and 700 are the older units, so be prepared for lots of mirrors. Building 1 is a three story walk up (no elevators). Building 7 is probably the same. The only elevator that I am aware of in the older section is in the corner of buildings 4 and 5. I have stayed in 1 many times but not 7.

The units are large. The bathroom is huge but be careful with the floors. They are slippery when wet.

We stayed in building 100 in Feb 2007. Yes, the bathrooms are HUGE, i.e. 2 people could sleep in the shower, and the floors are very slippery when wet - our son smashed his head on the jacuzzi tub and off to the emergency room we went. bad memories....

The 700 building is right by the main pool and also parallel to the basketball courts. Heres a link to the building location on property.

Scroll down to Site Plan and it shows exactly where the buildings are.

We own three weeks here in the older buildings and love it, Location is the best,

PM me when you get back and let me know how your stay was.

We requested and stayed in 700....Loved it! The location is close to the pool, away from the road, etc....:thumbsup2

We stayed in one of the newly renovated 1br units in May and really enjoyed ourselves. You can't beat the access to DW property. We went over to the AKL one day for lunch at the Mara and to walk around the property.

We were on the 2nd floor, but people on the 3rd floor said they could see the fireworks each night. Our building also had it's own pool which we used everyday during our afternoon breaks from the parks.

My only recomendation is to bring an over the door hook to hang wet towels, bath suits etc...there was only 1 towel bar in that enormous bathroom.

Just got back from Silver Lake and can say that I really did not like it. We were given a room in the 700s, but the A/C compressor broke on day 1 so we were moved to the 1000s, a much nicer room.

Location was great.
The activites staff was not motivated, pool life was dead, the amenity hours were awful. The exercise area did not open until 9, and the activity office where everything was kept was closed at 9:30 Friday night.

We have stayed at several condos in the area, I was disappointed in this one.

We just returned from a stay in building 1000. The AC did not work well. We were on the first floor and could not get the unit below 75 degrees. Someone at the front desk said they would move us, but did not want the hassle. We were glad to leave.

We usually stay in winter when the AC is not an issue. This time, we were a bit disappointed also.

It looks like they are about to start construction on a new building behind the tall buildings, either 1700 or1800. Anyone in those buildings will experience a lot of noise for at least a year.
