We want a 2 BR in May. I can get Silver Lake for $540 for a week or Wyndham Cypress Palms for $369 for the week. We have annual passes, also will have a 1 year old and a 2 year old. Worth the $170 to stay closer to property? I'm sure we'll need a break during the day. It would mean that we'd have to eat more meals in the room though too. (It's supposed to be a budget trip.)

We have stayed at both recently and would choose Silver Lake over Wyndham easily. They are both nice resorts and there is nothing wrong with the Wyndham, but Silver Lake has a great location and is a bit smaller. They have a snack shop/bar by the pool which worked out well for us on our pool days. The biggest thing that I did not like about the Wyndham was the way the rooms or outdoor hallways/walkways were set up. At Silver Lake, there were steps directly to the rooms with not walkway outside your windows. While at the Wyndham, the stairs lead to floors and there are walkways to take you right to your door and everyone elses which run right outside your windows where all the bedrooms are. You have to keep the shades closed at all times as they are walkway level and people are walking right outside your bedroom at all hours and it could be loud. At Silver Lake there was nothing outside the bedroom windows as there are not walkways. Much, Much better set up in my opinion.

The game room was much better at Silver Lake, however the one in the Wyhdham offers free Keurig coffee, hot chocolate and tea as well as popcorn. The best thing about the Wyndham was that there is a Krispy Creme to walk to for "breakfast" each morning!:rotfl:

$170 isn't chump change. If the price were equal, I'd absolutely go with Silver Lake. But, for a budget trip, Cypress Palms is probably fine. Figure an extra 10 minutes or so in transit.

Yes, I do not mean by my above post that there is anyting wrong with the Wyndham. IT is a nice place to stay. I just know that it was noisey outside the bedroom window and we much preferred no commotion.

I love Silver Lake! Being that close to Disney Property for us is priceless! (of course, we own there so I'm probably biased!) Either way, have a great trip!
