pirate: We're looking to exchange at Silver Lake or Vacation Village at Parkway in August. Plenty of two bedroom units available at that time. I've checked out numerous reviews about both resorts. I was looking for some feedback about each one. Thanks!

I've never stayed at Silver Lake, but we stayed at Vacation Village at Parkway in 2005 and 2006 and really liked it. The rooms are set up as two bedroom lock-offs. One side is a large one bedroom with a full kitchen (that's what we stayed in) and there is also a smaller one bedroom (I think that one has a smaller kitchen).

It's close to WDW. It's fairly new. They were still adding buildings when we were there. They didn't really bother us too much about taking a tour.

We own Wyndham points now, and we're trying to buy a small DVC contract, so we'll be using those for the most part from now on. But if a good deal came along at VVP we'd definitely consider staying there again for an extra vacation.

We stayed at Silver Lake in late '07 and really enjoyed it.

We had a 2 Br condo that was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked. The best part though was the location. You could be from your door to Animal Kingdom in 5 mins and to the other parks (except for MK due to the T&T center) in 10-15 at most.

We've stayed at both places, and liked both, but Vacation Village is way nicer. We had a 2 bedroom unit at each place - SL was a real 2 bedroom while VVP had the master bedroom attached to the main kitchen and the other bedroom was like a studio lockoff unit, with another little kitchen area. VV is definitely newer with nicer furniture. SL was older, with formica in the bathroom, and the little tiles in the shower, and the 2nd bedroom was pretty small. But SL is the closer location, and both condos had nice pools. Since you're going in Aug, VVP had pools that had alot of shade around them, which wasn't good in Feb when we were there, but could be helpful in Aug. I seem to remember having to pay a deposit for pool towels at SL - that was kind of weird! If I had to choose, I'd pick VVP over SL, as the drive isn't really bad from there, and its close to a Publix and lots of restaurants. Hope this helps!
