Got this envelope in the mail yet. No idea what's in it, promised the wife I wouldn't open it without her. Says "Very Important Magic enclosed" and has the 25th anniversary logo on the back.

Others have posted that a new member card was in a packet like that, but only one card for the member's name on front (not for both members at the house).

It should be your new 25th anniversary ID card along with some info about DVC
s 25th anniversary and some special offerings and events that coincide with it. Looks just like the envelope I got last week with all the aforementioned. The new ID card is kind of cool. Enjoy! :sunny:

You two are too cute -- not opening a mailing until the other is home. Most of our mail from Disney goes straight into the garbage ... unopened. (I guess we simply assume it is all junk mail these days.)

Curious why they wouldn't send both membership cards?

We take our Disney very seriously here. And since we're in the process of getting a resale contract, we're particularly high on it right now. :)

We also recieved just one card in my name even though both our names are on the contract and we both have the old card. It's weird since everything else from DVC comes in my DH's name but this came in my name. Maybe the reason I was issued the card is because I book in my name and I go a lot more often than he does??

Not likely, the database that they used just had your name as primary. Seems like another over blown expense for members and now we have to wait for the rest or the cards either to be mailed or we might have to pick them up at WDW. As long as the old cards are accepted, that is what we will use.

fingers crossed the card comes in my name, i'd never hear the end of it from DH = mickey loves him more

if shipping only one card was designed to save $, not a stretch to guess that the number of calls MS will be fielding as to status of missing spousal card will be an offset to it.

It just seems silly to me that they would send out only 1 card.....Disney gives away magic bands like they are tootsie rolls at a parade but they can't give us 2 cards??
I honestly don't care about a new card I just think it is ridiculous to send only 1.

My name is hardily visible on the card; the printer must have been running out of ink when mine was printed.

Yeah I don't really think any of us care that much about not getting the new one-but since they won't accept the old one as of April (I think I read) we all need them and it is frustrating they are going to waste our dues to have to send additional cards in separate mailings.

Honestly some of you need to do some research on Disney versus DVC. As SuperRob said, magicbands and DVC membership cards do not come from the same division.

Also pretty sure mailings are not covered by dues either. Annual Dues go towards your Resort's operating costs, administrative expenses, refurbishment expenses and real estate taxes.

I would assume that mass mailings like this probably come from the DVC promotional/advertising budget and not annual dues.

The website says that as of April, the new 25th Anniversary cards will be the only cards accepted for discounts and perks...
