About 2 weeks ago, DH and I went to Branson,Mo to spend a couple days @ their Craftsman's Festival (I forget what it's actulally called).
That day I had told DH I wanted to rent a scooter, as we spent a HORRIBLE day @ Six Flags a week prior (Luckily here @ home)
So we get there @ 8 am to have breakfast prior to the park opening @ 9:30. We rent the scooter, the saleslady looked at me like I was nuts since I already had a chair LOL. So here I go on my way in the scooter....
We get to restaurant, I can barely get in the door (its buffet) because I've never used one before. We finish breakfast and I need to back up to leave. Ya know how usually your ECV back up noise is "Beep Beep Beep"? Well I get one the sound off....BEEEEEEEPPPPP!!!! the whole time I'm backing up. The whole EXTREMELY NOISEY restaurant.....STOPPED.
Ok so I dealt w/ that. Next I needed to go to the bathroom. Only one scooter accessible bathroom in the park, At the first aid station. We get to the Station...I take 20 minutes to get into the bathroom only to see that the last person that used it overflowed it. So.....I back out, wait for them to plunge & clean. so by this time I really gotta do the deed. I go back w/ DH in toe to help me (I've never pottied from a scooter b/4).
The park opens each morning w/ a wonderful tribute to our Service Personnel & Girl/Boy Scouts.
Now realize I can't ride the rides in the park since I can't leave my chair or scooter, SO I WENT TO SHOP!!!!
The only problem w/ that is you can't get a scooter into any stores. That tore it...I promtly high-tailed it back to the rental to retrieve my chair.
As I've said b/4 I'm more comfy in my chair that anywhere else anyhow.
They gave us half our money back since I only used it for an hour anyway. For the rest of that day and for the next my days were fabulous.
Moral of the story.....ECVs were meant for people who can get out of them
LOL
