I've decided to get my wrist checked.....Tamie told me a DH horror story, and it's been buggin' me today. The thing is, tomorrow isn't a day that I can take off or even be gone for a while very easily (often I don't even take lunch on Wednesdays), and I don't know if I want to wait until Thursday (not that I probably can't). We have an Urgent Care facility that is open until 10:00 pm. Is it okay to use Urgent Care for something that isn't necessarily an emergency?

I know...... probably a dumb question, but I don't use the medical field very often...... which is why I have waited this long to have it checked.

I would say go ahead and go. You don't necissarily have to be dying to go. That's pretty much what they're there for, people that need medical attention outside of dr's regular office hours. I've had to go a couple of times on weekends because of sick kids. So if you need to go, go ahead and go.

My ds hurt his wrist at school a couple years ago and the pediatrician couldn't fit him in until 3 hour later so i took him to urgent care and he had broken a bone in his wrist. so i would say go!

Heidi, if you are concerned then you should go. It doesn't matter if anyone else considers it urgent or not. If they deem others who are there to be more urgent cases than yours they will treat them first. Your peace of mind is the most important thing. {{{hugs}}} and prayers coming your way. :)

Okay..... I just didn't want to be rude.

Thanks! I'll let you know what they say.

Yes, go! Real life/death emergencies should go to the ER. I work for a family Doctor who also owns an Urgent Care center. We send everyone to Urgent Care who can't make it into the office during normal business hours.

Thanks guys! I went......thankfully my wrist is not broken, just badly sprained. He said because I was still using it, I was injuring it more severly..... so he immobilized it. He also said I would still be able to type, but he lied! This is hard! Only 21 more days of this.... maybe I'll get good at it by the time I'm done.
