Silly Symphony Swings blog & pics

Great blog, I have been waiting for first hand reports. I cannot tell you how much I love this ride. I am very excited it has been saved and plussed! I just hope there will be a way to fit in rides after dark, inbetween WOC shows.

Sweet blog!!

I've always loved the swings, and am so happy to hear they're up an running as the Silly Symphony Swings! Will probably make a trip after the summer crowds die down...

By the way, i'm not too far from you! Cow town aka Tulare! :wave2:

Nicely reported!

I think the simple fact that even the pictures made me get a little motion sick means your account will be the closest I will get to riding it, though!

Nice pictures, too!

I can't wait to ride them.

Does it feel like you go faster (than OS), because there is no enclosure? And are the single chairs faster (higher) than the doubles? Also, do you feel like you are flying over the water or more over the platform? Do you think they will put anything else other than the benches underneath the ride? Is the que in the shade or sun, or does it depend on time of day? Sorry for the 20 questions, but I love this ride and won't be able to do it myself for another month or so.

Thanks, Tom. :)

I noticed that the sign does not list a weight limit like the Orange Stinger (at one point) did, does anyone happen to know if it is still 200lbs? I've become slightly Pooh-sized over the last few years and am hoping to determine if I'd fit in the swing prior to attempting to sit down...Bad experience at Knott's that I hope to NEVER repeat.

No. No. Platform. Don't know. Shade.

The weight limit was done away with soon after the Orange Stinger opened.

Thanks for sharing! I think the new incarnation of the swings looks alot better than when they had the big orange enclosure around it...love the murals on it!

Another great blog ~ DD & I will do some tandem swinging early next month ~ she loved it when it was the Orange I see no reason why she won't enjoy this version.

Great, blog!! Thanks for sharing and I'm glad they kept the tandum too. I know my daughter really wants to try these but she's afraid to do it alone.

I'm 225-ish and did OK- I was in a tandem with my DD, but there were lots of people sitting single in the tandem swings.

I can't wait to ride them.

The tandem swings were all closest to the center. Thats how I got the awesome pictures of my family I posted in my thread.

Keep in mind that the yellow seats on the tandem swings are ONLY for guests between 40" and 48". I saw more than one CM ask a guest to move. One time the guest complied, the other time the guest asked for an exception and it was granted.

If you're daughter is over 48", she will most likely be asked to ride in her own seat.

I am "Pooh-Sized" as well and I am TERRIFIED of the chair flying off. I am more afraid of that than not fitting.:scared1:

Thank you for the info, she will be turning 7 on our trip and is currently just 40-42", hopefully she won't grow 6 inches in the next 5 months, although it would be nice for her to be able to ride all the rides at the park :goodvibes

So...if someone is around...250ish pounds...he would be okay to ride this...? Its not so much that he's round..he's just really tall and well..a bit weighty...and huge because of that...but I don't wanna ride without him :(
