Silly Souvenirs

I've got a couple of silly souvenirs from our last trip - both from Typhoon Lagoon.

We got to TL at opening one day and made a mad dash to the wave pool. There was hardly anyone there! A CM with a bull horn announced that he was holding a body surfing contest. My son and I eagerly joined in. We'd ride a wave in and then swim back out for the next, trying for more distance each time.

Anyhoo - to make a long story short, the CM picked my son and I! We both got Typhoon Lagoon Surfboard keychains!

At the end of the day, I emptied out the locker we had rented, but forgot to hand in my key. I didn't realize it until that evening - I had put the key in my fanny pack. I went back the next day to return it, but they told me that they changed out the locks on all the lockers where the keys were not returned (must be a pretty common occurence) and that I could keep it.

So, I've got a TL Keychain with a TL locker key on it as my silly souvenirs!

When we went to WDW in January 1986, it was freezing cold. I was not prepared for that cold weather and I was pregnant. So I bought an extra large sweat shirt, gloves and winter hat at Disney. I still wear the sweatshirt and hat (with Mickey on it) in the winter.

DS went skiing and lost the locker key into the lining of his ski pants. He didn't realize where it was and had to pay to get into his locker. That key is a ski souvenir.

My mother has some paper napkins that she got from somewhere, sometime. They aren't marked, they're just plain, old, white paper napkins. When we found them in her souvenir box, she just shrugged her shoulders and put them back in there. Hahaha!

My brother gave me a pressed penny from WDW. I can't figure out what's pressed on it or where it's from?????? Come to think about it, I don't know where it is????

I have a little card with Mickey that says the ice machines are located on all floors behind the elevators.

When we were at the Toronto DIS meet this summer, we were all given napkins from Disneyland Paris that one of the famileis in our group had brought back with them the month before. You would have thought they'd given us all a gold bar! We were all SO excited and none of them got used, but brought home to be kept safely since most of us know we'll never make it there ourselves!

I have napkins and plates from the 25th Anniversary and somehow i ended up with the pamphlet about the phone charges from your room.

Oops, Bernie.....I didn't see this "Silly Souvenir" thread when I started my "craziest keepsake thread!!!


Oh well, it just goes to show, brilliant minds sure think alike. Now, if I can just figure out tomorrow's riddle!
