Ok, Im bored...Im stuck at work, with not a lot of stuff to do...So I am running an informal poll..

Which do you prefer to take?

A bath
A shower
Either, doesnt matter to me..

Me personally, nothing beats sinking into a nice hot steamy bath with bubbles with a good book!

So what about the rest of the Dis..

OMG, If I had a tub that I could sink into I would.:cloud9: However, we have a modern shallow tub that as soon as you get into the water drains through the overflow. Just takes all the fun out of it.

One of my greatest splurges in life is sinking into a nice hot bath every morning. I can think of no better way to start my day, and although I know it's not very environmentally conscious, I just can't seem to give it up.

I checked other because it was available, hee hee.

Seriously though, it depends on my intent. If I want clean, I prefer shower. If I want to cool off, I prefer bath (we have no ac). If I want to read, I prefer bath. And if it's Saturday morning and I have nowhere to be, I prefer neither, just my laptop or a book with the dogs on the couch for a snuggle relax fest.

Shower to clean, bath to relax. I just don't ever feel super clean after a bath, and most times I actually stand up and rinse off after the bath water has drained.

I agree with the last two posts. - If I feel really dirty, I definitely want a shower (especially to wash my hair) but I also love a bath just to relax and read.

P.S. - If my answer is "both", do I click "either" or "other"?

I clicked both. Nothing like a long bubble bath to relax with a shower to rinse off the bubbles. Clean pair of PJs and clean sheets followed by a solid 8 hours sleep. Maybe I should of clicked other!

Oh a shower for sure.

Sitting in a tub of water and my own filth doesn't sound good at all. And I'm not dirty either but if you think you don't excrete anything throughout the day on your skin, you're mistaken. It doesn't have to be visible to the naked eye to be there. ;) But I can do it if I take a shower first.

Just don't say that in Portland, I think you might get hanged for that. :)

I didn't know you could click more than one!

I'd love to take a bath, but for the last 11 years the bathtub has been home to my wife's house plants. :confused3

Growing up and living with my parents I only took baths. We didn't have a shower until I was about 10 years old, and if you wanted to take one then Mom required you to completely dry the walls and shower door after you were finished. Too much hassle so I stuck with baths.

I had this conversation about baths vs. showers my senior year of high school during creative writing class and one guy said "taking a bath is like sitting in your own dirt." I'd never thought of it that way.

Even now, many years later, I still prefer showers to wash away the sweat and dirt rather than a bath to sit in the sweat and dirt. :)

If I'm in a hurry its a shower definitely, but to relax I prefer a bath.

Showers are functional, but a bath filled with warm sudsy water and bubbles is luxurious. I prefer a bath but I don't do it too often. My DH will sometimes run be a bath when I'm stressed, it's one of those sweet nothings that go a long way with me :cloud9:

When my kids were babies I used to pick up inexpensive packages of rose petals from the florist and would sprinkle some in my nightly bath. Every night after dinner I had an hour bath break while my kids got Daddy time. Usually it didn't take an entire hour for me to wind down and rejoin the family but it was nice to have it available.

had to say shower for many reasons

1. cast iron tub. They don't stay warm for long
2. one bathroom 6 people. Yeah as soon as I sit down somebody's "got to go"

I cant remember the last time I took a bath. I hate to say I think it was about 14 years ago - PG with my last. It's time!!! ;) How could you not love a bath?! Showers are daily and no brainers and not time sappers. Sad.:rotfl2:

My bathroom has just a shower, so that is daily.

My husband's bathroom has a shower and a tub, so I do steal his bathroom when I need to relax with a good book and a bottle of wine. I'm just so glad he's a clean freak.
