I have all of us lanyards for our card keys. Do I need buy the plastic card holder attachments?

Can guarantee, but on other ships we've had guest services punch a hole in the card - if you don't want a hole, get the plastic holders.

here is what my family uses :thumbsup2

You will get a lanyard for each person in your party at check in. Just a free little gift for sailing DCL.

Correct, only thase who are castaway members get the lanyards, DW and I got one while both DD who were first timers didn't! I told them we will take them on another cruise to get their own lanyards. I figure the lanyards will cost me about $1800 a piece but well worth it:laughing:

If you are going on the Dream, you can leave the card in the plastic and hold it next to the sensor. The other ships have a slot the card goes into. I loved the plastic holder!

Is there some place we can buy lanyards? I have one from WDW but would like a DCL one.

They sell them in the terminal or in the gift shop on the ship....I bought mine the first time I cruised in the terminal before I got on the ship.

:rotfl: Another not inexpensive way to get free lanyards is to be DVC members. We just went on our first cruise and had lanyards in our cabin when we embarked. Well worth $20K + cruise fare. :rolleyes1

We just got off the Dream today! I bought lanyards from Party City for .99 each. We went to Guest Services and had them punch a hole in our cards. Worked perfectly!

Dummy me...we have sailed so many times it just seemed that the lanyards are always there for us. We also get DVC lanyards and agree that is one of the reasons we purchased DVC, lol

I'm not a lanyard gal! So quick lanyard questions....

my kids 3 and 4....do they have to wear cards?

I have a WDW plastic box on a lanyard DH will wear and I doubt we will separate...SO what do you use your card for? DO tell please!

Just make sure you have your card with you at all times. You will use it for anything you purchase onboard or at Castaway Cay, and it's the key to your cabin as well as what operates the lights in your cabin on the Dream (and Fantasy). lol. As far as your 3 and 4 year old....they will mainly just need them for embarkation, debarkation, and anytime they are getting off/on the ship in port.

I collect Disney pins and always bring enough (and, um, buy more onboard...... :rolleyes1 ) to pin all down both sides of my lanyard. I guess I probably look like a keener :rotfl2: but what the heck....I'm enjoying it all :banana:
