Silly Question: Can you get cups of ice at DL?

We calculated how much it is for our family to get sodas with each meal- for our whole trip we'll have spent $107 on sodas alone. I thought it would be a good idea to take our own bottles of soda instead. I like mine cold so I'd need ice- do the restaurants let you get a cup of ice for free?

Yes they do. My fiance and I got many cups of ice on our last trip! However, I did notice the sizes of the cups varied from small to a medium, so I am unsure if you can request a certain size or not.

Any restaurant or counter service will give you a glass of ice if you ask for it, and if you want, ice water as well. Like cutedisneygirl mentioned, it does vary... It depends on the person helping you since I've gotten a medium and a small on the same trip from the same place.

I also found out that it varies who will give you ice water. In some places we were able to get ice water and in others just a cup of ice.

Ow, I'd have asked somebody else. I can understand charging something for a cup of ice, because usually they (Disney) don't get the cups for free, so they pass on that cost. But, it shouldn't cost the exact same as the soda.

May I recommend you skip the soda and take bottled water instead. You'll want to stay hydrated for the trip.

We don't drink sodas at the parks...well OK maybe one or two. We take water and refill it instead. Much cheaper and healthier.

I've never had an issue getting a cup of ice or ice water and I've never been asked to pay for it either.

If you don't like the taste of water, try crystal light or kool-aide single packs to add to water bottles.
