silly question about titles here...

I keep seeing DIS CAST MEMBER under some peoples names.DOEs this mean a WDW cast memeber(WORKS for/at wdw) or does that mean for the DIS board?if its for the board..how do u become a cast member?TIA

It says DIS Cast Member under my name and I don't work for Disney. I have no idea what it means for why it's there. Not much help, am I?

I wondered the same thing. No, Cast Member is a title you get automatically, after a certain number of posts (500 I think). I don't think its a good system because to many, cast memebr implies knowledge or authority, but in reality, to get that designation, all you need is 500 opinions.

I have often wondered that myself. I never understood how someone could be a cast member if they live in NY or Chicago. Can somebody 'splain?

Capital DIS for DISboards. We aren't WDW CMs, it's a title everyone gets after a certain number of posts, much like "earning my ears".

hehhe,,that i did myself(LONG STORY ON THAT ONE..involves cheap wine,lack of sleep and a WDW movie.dont ask),,,,,i did that in my profile.

If you add your own title "like pink little cupcake" or whatnot-- then you won't get the automatic DIS titles. Also, if you've been "tagged" by the tag fairy then you won't get them either.

Getting tagged is usually a random magical thing. I don't think the TF's have been very active lately (I could be wrong). There got to be too much commotion-- with people all asking for tags and such. There got to be dozens of threads on every board w/ people asking. So, it got to the point where I think the TF laid low for awhile-- now I'm not really sure.
