this is probably a very easy question for you guys, but does anyone know when F&W starts in 2012 ?

Also, I own at BWV, but not sure yet when I would be going next year. Can i make several reservations and then cancel them without costs up to 4 months prior to my reservation ? Does it matter if it are points i banked from this year ?

Oh, and last question. By when do you need to bank your points ? Say that my use year is January. Until when can i bank my 2011 points ? thanks !!

September 28 - November 11, 2012

You can make as many reservations as you'd like, providing you have points to cover them all. The points are used as of the date of the reservation. Just remember that if you borrow points it is a final transaction. You can't un-borrow them if you don't need them.

You cannot bank points in the last 4 months of your use year. If your use year is January you cannot bank points after August 31st.

Look at the member site for this:
Disney Vacation Club Resorts

Changing a reservation 31 or more days prior to check-in:
If the new reservation uses fewer Vacation Points than the original reservation, the remaining Vacation Points will be returned to your account in the Use Year in which the reservation falls.

Changing a reservation 30 days-1 day prior to check-in:
All Vacation Points will be placed in the Holding Account. If the new reservation uses fewer Vacation Points than the original reservation, the remaining Vacation Points will stay in the Holding Account until the end of your Use Year.

Changing a reservation on the check-in date:
If the new reservation uses fewer Vacation Points than the original reservation, the remaining Vacation Points will be forfeited.

Cancelling a reservation 31 or more days prior to check-in:
All Vacation Points used to make the reservation will be restored to your account in the Use Year in which the reservation falls.

Cancelling a reservation 30 days-1 day prior to check-in:
All the Vacation Points used to make the reservation will be placed in the Holding Account in the Use Year in which the reservation falls.

Cancelling a reservation on the check-in date:
All the Vacation Points used to make the reservation will be forfeited.

Holding Account
A Holding Account is a "parking space" for Vacation Points from a Disney Vacation Club Resort reservation that has been modified or cancelled 30 days to 1 day before your scheduled check-in date. Here are some guidelines regarding usage of Holding Account Vacation Points.
These Vacation Points can be used for a new Disney Vacation Club Resort reservation during your current Use Year as long as the reservation is booked 60 or less days before the new check-in date.
These Vacation Points can also be used for a new reservation during your current Use Year in two ways:
For the Disney Collection* (except Disneyland Resort in California and Tokyo Disney Resort hotels), Concierge Collection*, or Adventurer Collection*, you can make the reservation more than four months before the end of your Use Year for a check-in date that is 60 or less days before the new check-in date.
For Disneyland Resort in California and Tokyo Disney Resort hotels, or the World Passport Collection, as long as the reservation is booked 60 or less days before the new check-in date.
* Available when you purchase directly from Disney.
These Vacation Points cannot be banked or borrowed.
These Vacation Points must be used by the end of the Use Year or they expire.

What do I need to know about banking Vacation Points?
To bank up to 100% of your Vacation Points during the first 8 months of your current Use Year to use during your next Use Year, select the Bank Vacation Points link in the Points section of My Disney Vacation Club and bank online or contact Member Services at (800) ******** or (407) 566-3800† by the date listed on the banking chart .
To bank Vacation Points for a Disney Cruise Line® vacation from the next Use Year to the following Use Year, contact Member Services at (800) ******** or (407) 566-3800†.
Vacation Points can only be banked once.
The banking window is applied to the sum total of Vacation Points across all of your contracts, not on an individual contract level.
If you've not completed travel on banked Vacation Points by the end of the Use Year they've been banked into, they expire.
You cannot return banked Vacation Points to their original Use Year.
You cannot borrow or transfer banked Vacation Points.
You may apply banked Vacation Points to all Member Getaways exchanges.
You'll be given a banking transaction number when you bank Vacation Points; please be sure to record it.
All banking transactions are final.
In order to bank Vacation Points, you need to be up to date on your Annual Dues and monthly loan payments (if applicable), and not have any other outstanding balances related to your Membership.
To maintain a proper balance of Vacation Points in the Club's central reservation system, banking may be suspended or limited from time to time.

F&W usually starts end of September and runs to second week of Nov. Points must be banked by end of eighth month of use year (and count first month to get to 8); thus if, for example, Feb use year you must bank by Sep 30.

Not sure of intent on multiple reservations. Any reservation you make will require committing the points at time of reservation and thus you cannot use same points to make a separate reservation. However, you can make a separate reservation using different points (including any banked). Nevertheless, they may not let you make an overlapping reservation, e.g., one for Sun to Thurs, and one for Mon to Fri for the same week unless you can put a separate name on the separate room (you might be able to put one in husband's name and other in wife but I never tried that).

If you make separate reservations, you can cancel one anytime before 30 days out and points go back into account as is: banked as banked, current as current year, and borrowed as borrowed; any banked or borrowed points will then have to be used by end of the use year; any current points can be banked but only if you cancel at a time when you can still bank under the rule mentioned in my first paragraph above; so if trip is late in the use year you will not even be able to bank them if you are beyond the eigth month of your use year when you cancel and will have to use those "current" year points by end of use year
